• 20% of the paper is professional skills (20 marks)

• Less emphasis on Models

• Various Formats Required: Reports, briefing notes, memos, presentation slides, press release,
emails, letters, PIDs

• >50% of paper is common sense

Why Students Fail SBL

(As per Examiner Reports)

ERROR / MISTAKE SOLUTION

1. Answers not linked with Exhibits Start your paragraph with statement of fact copy pasted
from the exhibit (ie punch line or opening sentence)
2. Merely copy/pasting material from the Exhibits Explain the reason or the impact of the point on the
WITHOUT adding own comments or explaining why the business (i.e. explain why this point is relevant)
point is important or relevant

3. Overspending time on one particular question, mostly Rigorous focus on time management.
normally Q1 (time-trap)
Leave the question incomplete and move to next
question as soon as time is up
4. Not completing the entire paper (bad time
management) Start with easier question first. Do difficult question in
the last

5. >50% questions are common sense questions hence Extensively practicing all common sense questions from
bookish / theoretical students struggle past papers

6. Not understanding the requirement correctly Sufficient practice of past papers

`

ERROR / MISTAKE SOLUTION

7. Poor technical knowledge Mater the Top 25 Important Topics through my video
and handout (available on my free google drive /
youtube)

8. Insufficient number of points according to marks Calculate number of points (total marks divide by 2)

9. Students not doing Practice / Mocks on the CBE Solve 7-8 questions directly on CBE platform
Platform

10. Weak tying and formatting skills (formats, layouts, Solve questions directly on CBE platform, your tying will
excessive typo / spelling errors) improve with more practice

From my experience (not examiner comment)

11. Students gives two papers together Give SBL as a standalone paper
