3. Abstraction
• The teacher will discuss the different types of shapes and colors.

What are shapes?


- A shape can be defined as the form of an object or its outline,
outer boundary, or outer surface.
Types of Shapes
• Circle – A circle is round. It has no corners or sides.
• Square – A square has 4 sides that are all the same
length. It also has 4 corners.
• Rectangle – A rectangle has 4 sides and 4 corners too,
but the sides are not all equal. It has 2 long sides and 2
short sides.
• Triangle – A triangle has 3 sides and 3 corners.
• Heart – A heart is a shape that looks like the symbol we
use to show love or care. It has a point at the bottom and
two rounded parts at the top.

What are colors?


- A color is the aspect of any object that may be described in terms
of hue, lightness, and saturation.
Different kinds of colors
• Yellow
• Blue
• Red
• Green
• Violet
• Orange
• Brown
• Black
4. Application
• “Match and Identify”
- The teacher will give a group activity.
- The students will divide into 2 groups each group do their task.

• Group 1
Direction: Match the shapes to their names.

• Group 2
Direction: Identify the name of the colors of each fruit and write it in the
blank provided.
5. Generalization
• The teacher will review the different shapes and colors and ask
questions:
1. What are the different shapes and colors that have been
discussed?
2. Give me your favorite color.

IV. EVALUATION
- The teacher will give an individual assessment.
- The teacher will give instructions for the assessment.
- The teacher will instruct the students to get their colors and activity
notebook.

• Direction: In your activity notebook, draw one shape and color it using
your favorite color.

V. ASSIGNMENT
- The teacher will give the assignment to the students.

• Direction: Draw at least five other kinds of shapes, different from the
five shapes I showed you. Name each shape you draw and color
them.
