Review
To proceed, let’s have a short recap of our
topic last time about the differences between
slow and fast, heavy and light, free and bound
movements.
So I will flash here some photos of random
objects. After that, you will determine which
object is being defined based on the given
situation.
Class, do you understand?
                                                    Yes, teacher!
That’s fantastically awesome! So I guess we
are all set to begin. Fasten your seatbelts for a
trip down memory lane because we will start
in 3…2…1
For the first one, which one is SLOW and The Slow is letter A and the Fast is letter B.
which one is FAST?
Your answer was correct! The slow one is
letter A because it was just walking while letter
B was riding a skateboard.
How about this one, which one is HEAVY and
which one is LIGHT? The heavy is letter B and the light is letter A.
That’s right! Letter B is heavy because of its
weight rather than the paper clips in letter A. Free-flow is letter B and the bound-flow is
                                                   letter A.
As an old adage says, save the best for last! so
in this situation, which one is FREE-FLOW
and which one is BOUND-FLOW?
Check! Check! Check! That is right! Letter B
is free-flow because she was using a ribbon
while letter A is bound-flow because the bow
and arrow is uncontrollable.
I see that you’ve mastered our topic last time.
      ENGAGE
Now, let’s proceed to our new topic for today.
But before that I have a question from all of (The pupils will answer)
you. I know that your generation was already
involved in today’s modernization. Each of
you are possible having their own mobile
phone, tablet or computer.
But can you give at least one game application
                                                (The pupils will answer)
installed in your devices that you really enjoy
playing?
Some say they play Mobile Legends. Some
                                                (The pupils will answer)
says that they play Candy Crush, Temple
Run… How about the others?
Oh, I see that you have so many game
applications that you enjoy playing.
But are you familiar with the game “Plants
                                                Yes Teacher!
Vs. Zombies”?
If you say so, who among you have noticed Me teacher!
this zombie in that game?
So, as you observe what happened to that It will get angry and it will move so fast.
zombie when the newspaper that he holds got
damaged?
Exactly, it moves so fast. From the
normalpaced walk and once the newspaper got
damaged it would move so fast.
This has something to do with our topic for
today.
A few weeks ago, we studied about locomotor
activities like walking, jumping, and many
more.
and also, one topic that we’ve discussed last
time is the difference between slow and fast
movement.
With that being said, did you know that these
locomotor activities can be classified and
performed at a variety of speeds? It can be slow
or fast-paced. Just like our example Mr. Zombie
with the newspaper. From the normal-paced
walk its speed increases, causing him to do
jogging instead. For you to see its contrast let’s
proceed to our main topic.
     EXPLORE
For today's lesson, we will tackle demonstrating
the contrast between slow and fast speeds while
using locomotor skills.
So I prepared a short music video to set your
mood in today's lesson about fast and slow. Be
ready, because I will play it 3…2…1

Did you enjoy our music video?
                                                   Yes, teacher.
That’s great!
EXPLAIN
Now, let’s proceed to our discussion. So, in
doing locomotor activities/skills it can be
performed at a desired speed. When we say
speed it is referring to how fast something
moves. It can be in a slow or in a fast manner.
So Cambridge dictionary defines the word
slow as moving, happening, or doing
something without much speed. While the
word fast was defined as moving or
happening quickly, or able to move or happen
quickly.
Now we will cite some examples of
Locomotor activities/ skills under slow.
Let’s start with WALKING, so when we say
walking it means keeping one foot on the
ground at all times. I may say that walking is
part of our daily lives, we do it every day. You
are blessed to have both legs and feet without
any injury or disability.
I’ll show you an example why walking is
considered under slow locomotor activity.
(A walking video clip will play)
So, once it becomes faster it will be called
RUNNING.
So, I’ll show you another video clip of how
running works.
(A running video clip will play)
                                                     Yes, teacher.
Can we move forward?
Let’s have another slow loco-motor activity.
This one is CRAWLING. When we crawl, we
simply move our arms and legs on the same
side of the body together.
I’ll show you an example why crawling is
considered under slow locomotor activity.
(A crawling video clip will play)
We can also crawl at a fast speed. We can call
it FAST CRAWL. This happens when you
increase your crawling speed just like this
video clip.
(A fast crawl video clip will play)
Okay let’s have more examples, the next one is
JUMPING and HOPPING. Jumping is
executed with both feet leaving and returning
to the floor at the same time just like this clip.
(A jumping video clip will play)
And when we say Hopping it is executed one
foot at a time just like this clip.
(A hopping video clip will play)
Teacher, how about jumping and hopping at a
fast-speed? So, it will be called FAST
JUMPING or FAST HOPPING just like these
clips.
(A fast jumping and fast hopping video clip
will play)
There are a lot of locomotor activities that can
be performed at different speeds. But for
today's lesson, our main focus here is for you
to see the contrast between the two. You must
also make sure that when doing fast speed
activities, we should be double cautious in
your actions because it can cause danger.
Sometimes even if we only perform slow
activities, we can’t say that we are free from
the risk of danger. What more if performing in
a fast speed situation right?
Now, let’s proceed to our generalization.
   C. Generalization
   1. Give the slow and fast feed locomotor
      activities that we tackle today.
   2. What is the importance of doing
locomotor skills in our daily lives?
   D. Application
Instruction: The teacher will provide a
      mystery box that contains different
activities and later on the teacher call
one by one of her students and pick
inside the box of what their students
      need to do.
IV. Evaluation
Instruction: Read the instruction/question carefully and select the best answer.
Note: Open the link provided to see the images turns to life and see its movement.

       1. Judge the movements in each images and select which is a fast manner activity.
                a.
                b.
               2. Examine this image and then select which is in slow manner movement.
                a.
                b.
            3. Examine the movement below. What locomotor skills/activity is he doing?
a. Running
b. Walking
c. Hopping
d. Crawling
4. Select at least two movements below that shows in fast-paced activities.
a.
b.
c.
d.
           5. Examine the movement below. What locomotor skills/activity is she doing?
              a. Fast Crawling
              b. Running
              c. Walking
              d. Fast Jumping
V. Assignment
Instruction: The pupils will create a 1–2-minute video showing different slow and speed
movements using locomotor skills
  Rubrics for short 4 3 (Good) 2 1
 video (Excellent (Pair) (Need
                              ) Improvement)
     1. The students
        demonstrate
        properly the
        slow and
        fasts speed
        while using
        locomotor
        skills
     2. The students
        choose the
        appropriate
        locomotor
        skills.
3. The students
     follow the
     instructions
     correctly
4. The students
     enjoy their
     performance
