Q.37 Read the text carefully and answer the questions:


In the Rohini, New DTC bus stop was constructed. The bus stop is barricaded from the remaining part
of the road, by using 20 hollow cones. Each hollow cone is made of recycled cardboard.

Each cone has a base redius of 60 cm and a height of 80 cm.

(i) What is the slant height of a cone? (1)

(ii) Find the curved surface area of the cone. (1)

(iii) If the outer side of each of the cones is to be painted and the cost of painting is 10 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑠𝑒 per

Q.38 Read the text carefully and answer the questions:


Rangoli hold a significant role in everyday life of a Hindu household. It has different names based on
the state and culture. It represents happiness, positivity and liveliness of a household. Geeta made two
rangoli in front of her house. She started one with a circle of diameter 50 cm and made triangles as
shown in the Fig. (b). In another circle, she drew one isosceles triangle as shown in Fig.(c)

(i) If Geeta divides the circle into 8 equal parts. Find the angle subtended by each arc at the Centre. (1)
(ii) In fig. (c), if PQ is the diameter then what is the measure of ∠PRQ? (1)
(iii) In fig. (b), the length of the chord AB of the circle is 40 cm, find its distance from the centre. (2)
