Belling the Cat

Once some mice lived happily in a rich man’s house. They moved around freely—running, jumping, and
even biting the children. The owner became very angry. To stop them, he brought a cat. The mice
were now in big trouble. They could not move freely anymore.
The mice held a meeting to find a way to get rid of the cat. Many ideas were shared, but none were
useful. At last, a young mouse stood up and said,
"I have a good plan. Let us tie a bell around the cat’s neck. Then we will hear the bell when the cat
comes. We can hide before he reaches us."
All the mice liked the plan and praised the young mouse. But then, an old mouse stood up and said,
"The idea is nice, but who will bell the cat?"
Suddenly, everyone became silent. They understood how dangerous it was. No one was brave
enough to tie the bell to the cat’s neck. So, the plan failed.
In the end, the mice left the house and moved to a new place.
Moral: It is easy to say something, but hard to do it.

Obedience to Mother (মাতৃ ভি )
Once there was a small boy named Bayazid. His mother was ill. One night, he was studying beside
his ailing mother’s bed. All of a sudden, his mother woke up, raised her head, and asked her son to
give her a glass of water.
Bayazid went to the kitchen, but unfortunately, there was not a drop of water in the pitcher.
Without any hesitation, he went to a distant fountain to fetch water. He returned with the pitcher
full of water. But by then, his mother had fallen asleep again.
Bayazid thought he should not disturb her sleep. So, he stood silently beside her bed, holding a glass
of water in his hand. The whole night passed in this way.
In the morning, his mother woke up and was surprised to see her son standing beside her with the
glass of water. At first, she could not understand anything, but soon she remembered everything.
Her heart was filled with deep love for her son. She embraced Bayazid and prayed for him from the
core of her heart.
Moral: Obedience to parents brings blessings.

Where There is a Will, There is a Way (ই া থাক ল উপায় হয়)
One day, a crow became very thirsty. He flew from one place to another in search of water, but he
found none. Still, he did not give up and continued his search.
At last, he saw a jar at a little distance. He flew to it and looked inside. To his sorrow, he saw that
there was only a little water at the bottom of the jar. He tried to reach the water with his beak,
but it was too low. Then he tried to overturn the jar, but he could not.
Yet he did not lose hope. Suddenly, he saw some stones lying nearby. He picked them up one by one
and dropped them into the jar. Gradually, the water level rose. After dropping many stones, the
water came up to the top. Then the crow was able to drink the water to his heart’s content and
quenched his thirst.
Moral: Where there is a will, there is a way.
