Jim Hawkins meets Ben Gunn outside a fort on the island. Ben Gunn is cautious and
refuses to enter the fort but promises to help Jim later. Jim notices that the ship,
Hispaniola, is now flying the black pirate flag. Inside the fort, Jim reunites with Dr. Livesey
and Captain Smollett and shares his experiences. Life inside the fort is difficult, with sand
blowing everywhere and smoke filling the air. Captain Smollett keeps morale high by
assigning tasks. They discuss Ben Gunn, whom Dr. Livesey suspects has gone a little crazy
after being alone on the island for three years. They decide to offer him some cheese Jim
brought. The group worries about their limited food supplies and hopes the pirates will
leave. The next morning, Long John Silver approaches the fort under a white flag, seeking
a truce. He claims the pirates elected him as captain and offers a deal: if they hand over
the treasure map, the pirates will either take them safely off the island or leave them
supplies. Captain Smollett refuses, stating that the pirates should surrender unarmed and
be taken back to England for trial. He argues that the pirates are in a weak position since
they cannot find the treasure, lack enough crew to sail, and cannot defeat those inside the
fortified fort. Silver, angered, leaves with a threat. Smollett warns his crew that an attack
is coming but believes they have the advantage.

The pirates launch an attack on the fort. Captain Smollett assigns defensive
positions. The pirates fire from all sides, focusing their attack on the north. Joyce shoots
some pirates attempting to climb the fence, while Dr. Livesey kills another at the doorway.
Jim is nearly attacked by a pirate named Anderson but is saved by Gray. Although they
repel the attack, the defenders suffer losses-Joyce and Hunter are killed, and Captain
Smollett is wounded. Dr. Livesey tends to his injuries and then leaves the fort with the
treasure map, likely searching for Ben Gunn. Restless and wanting to escape the hot fort,
Jim sneaks out to find Ben Gunn's hidden boat. He discovers the crude little boat near a
white rock and forms a plan to cut Hispaniola's anchor rope under the cover of darkness.
He paddles out to the ship and, as he cuts the rope, overhears two pirates (Hands and
another) arguing. The ship and Jim's boat are swept away by the current. After a terrifying
night at sea, Jim wakes up near the rocky southwest coast of Treasure Island and attempts
to navigate toward a place on the map called ّ Cape of Woods.

Jim realizes Silver is trying to manipulate him. Meanwhile, the other pirates grow
suspicious of Silver's leadership. They argue about whether to trust him, especially
regarding the treasure and their escape. Dr. Livesey arrives and offers medical aid, but
Silver remains distrustful. The doctor tries to reason with Silver, offering to help him
return to England for trial. However, Silver is still focused on the treasure. The tension
rises as the crew debates what to do with Jim. Silver insists on keeping him alive, while
the others disagree. Jim finds himself caught in a dangerous power struggle.

The pirates begin their treasure hunt, following the map's clues. Along the way,
they encounter strange landmarks, including a skeleton and a mysterious voice, which
terrifies them. They reach the marked location and dig, but instead of treasure, they find
an empty hole-Ben Gunn had already taken the treasure and hidden it in his cave. Furious,
the pirates turn on each other. Suddenly, Ben Gunn, Dr. Livesey, and Gray ambush them.
A fight breaks out, and the pirates are overpowered. One pirate, George, is killed. The
others are trapped and defeated. Ben Gunn reveals how he discovered the treasure long
ago and secretly moved it. Dr. Livesey and Captain Smollett decide to spare Silver,
acknowledging his intelligence and bravery, but take him back to England for trial. Back
in England, Ben Gunn quickly spends his share of the treasure, Captain Smollett retires,
and Gray becomes a ship's mate. Jim reflects on his adventure, saying he still has
nightmares about the sea and Long John Silver.

The first TV station was set up in 1928. It was in New York. Few people had

Read the following passage, then answer the questions:

Online Education allows students to attend classes without going to a school
building. The online community means students can share their opinions and
discuss what they are learning with other students and their teachers. Courses
use advanced video technology so that students can speak, make notes on the
screen and write on a shared whiteboard with other students.
There are a variety of reasons for choosing an online education. Some students
live in remote areas, and it is difficult to travel long distances every day. Others
have been the victims of bullying at school. The flexibility of this way of learning
means that it also appeals to students who have special needs, and students who
are unable to go to a traditional school.
An advantage of online education is that students study at their own pace
and place and they can choose the best time of day to study. All you need is a
computer with a high-speed connection to the internet and an ability to learn.
Choose the correct answer from a, b, c or d:
1. Online education is ..........
🅐a way of traditional learning 🅑a modern school building
🅒a group of students who work together
