302 White Glow (CC1) – 1 ball

Needles: US Size 7 (4.5 mm) or size
needed to obtain gauge
Notions: US Size H-8 (5 mm) crochet
hook (for fringe), yarn needle, polyester
fiberfill, red crayon (for cheeks), a small
hairbrush, 4” strip of cardboard (for
pompom)

Legs (Make 2) Ears (Make 2)
With CC2, cast on 24 sts. With CC3, cast on 6 sts.
Rows 1-3: Knit. Row 1 (RS): K2, k2tog, k2 – 5 sts rem.
Row 4 (and all WS rows): Purl. Row 2: K1, k3tog, k1 – 3 sts. Bind off all sts.
Rows 5-8: Work even in St st.
Row 9: K5, [k2tog] 3 times, k2, [k2tog] 3 times, k5 Beard
– 18 sts rem. With CC1, cast on 26 sts.
Rows 10-12: Work even in St st. Break yarn, Row 1: Knit. Bind off all sts. Cut 104 – 9” lengths of
leaving a 10” tail for seaming. CC1. Insert hook into first cast on st, place 2 lengths
Row 13: Join MC and knit. over hook, pull loop through and thread ends through
Rows 14-22: Work even in St st. Break yarn, loop to create fringe. Repeat for each st along cast on
leaving a 10” tail for seaming, and slide sts to end and bound off row. With a small hairbrush, brush
of LH ndl. beard to fluff and separate yarn strands.
Work second leg same as first, with sts for first leg Sew row 1 of beard in place on face, approx 1” above
still on ndl. start of CC3 on head. With MC, embroider a couched
st smile under nose. Sew ears to either side of beard

Row 23 (joining row): [K 1, kfb] 9 times, cont nose above center of beard. With CC2, embroider
across sts for first leg [K 1, kfb] 9 times – (54sts). French Knot eyes above nose, approx 2 rows above.
Rows 24-26: Color cheeks with crayon.
Work even in St st.
Row 27: * K2, kfb; rep from * to end – 72 sts. Moustache
Rows 28-44: Work even in St st. Cut 5 – 6” strands of CC1. Tie strands together at
Row 45: * K10, k2tog; rep from * to end – 66 sts center with a knot, brush strands as for beard, and
rem. sew in place under nose, with knot at center. Trim
Row 47: * K9, k2tog; rep from * to end – 60 sts moustache and beard as desired.

Hat rem sts, pull tightly, and sew arm seam, stuffing
With MC, cast on 32 sts. before closing. Sew arms to body, below collar.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2 (and all WS rows): Purl. Arm Cuff (Make 2)
Rows 3-4: Work even in St st. With CC1, cast on 17 sts. Knit 2 rows. Bind off and sew
Row 5: * K6, k2tog; rep from * to end – 28 sts rem. cuffs in place, approx 1” from end of arm.
Row 7: * K5, k2tog; rep from * to end – 24 sts rem. Pompom
Row 9: * K4, k2tog; rep from * to end – 20 sts rem. With CC1, wrap yarn around strip of cardboard 40
Row 11: * K3, k2tog; rep from * to end – 16 sts times. Trim and attach to top of hat.
rem. Buckle
Rows 13-16: Work even in St st. With CC2 held double, embroider 4 long sts around
Row 17: * K2, k2tog; rep from * to end – 12 sts center waist for buckle.
rem. Weave in rem ends.
Row 19: * K1, k2tog; rep from * to end – 8 sts rem.
Row 21: * K2tog; rep from * to end – 4 sts rem.
Break yarn, leaving a 14” tail and thread through
rem sts. Pull tightly and sew back seam of hat.
Stuff hat and sew in place at top of head.
Waistband
With CC1, cast on 74 sts.
Row 1 (RS): Knit. Work even in Garter st for 5
more rows. Bind off all sts and sew in place at
center waist, approx 3” above placement of legs.
Leg Cuffs (Make 2)
With CC1, cast on 20 sts.
Row 1 (RS): Knit. Work even in Garter st for 2
more rows. Bind off all sts and sew to leg at row

Hat Brim
With CC1, cast on 34 sts.
Row 1 (RS): Knit. Work even in Garter st for 3
more rows. Bind off all sts and sew around bottom
of hat.
Arms (Make 2)
With MC, cast on 6 sts.
Row 1 (RS): * Kfb; rep from * to end – 12 sts.
Row 2 (and all WS rows): Purl.
Row 3: * K3, kfb; rep from * to end – 15 sts.
Rows 5-22: Work even in St st.
Row 23: * K3, k2tog; rep from * to end – 12 sts
rem.
Row 24: * P2tog; rep from * to end – 6 sts rem.
Break yarn, leaving a 14” tail. Thread tail through
