ARTICLE I . NAME
SECTION 1: The name of this organization shall be The GEO-TECHNICAL
TEAM OF EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY AT THE EKITI STATE
UNIVERSITY (EKSU). With an abbreviation known as GEOTECH TEAM.
Founded by OPEYEMI EMMANUEL PKA (SOLID) Along side DONTUN
EMMANUEL PKA (DOT MAN) ON ___ ____ 2017 (2019 geology graduate,
Eksu).
ARTICE II PURPOSE AND ACTIVITIES
SECTION 1 THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS TO:
  Be a prestigious organization that will be reckoned with, within and outside
the school
 Add value to a common undergraduate geologists.
 Equip students with engineering and geology software knowledge.
 produce international/national competitive Geologic graduate that will be
vast in the modern day Geologic settings as well as building for the future
geology.
 To enlighten O’level student (Exciting world 🌎 of Geology ) on the
importance of Geology.
SECTION 2: Activities that must be carried out in this organization is as follows:
 Securing the backing of our lecturers (Awareness) through power point
presentation; the essence of this organization.
 Carrying the Alumni of this organization along on the possible progress and
ensuring their support whatsoever.
 Securing advises from Advisors on the necessary improvement.
 Ensuring the application and utilization of Grant (when necessary).
 Securing the necessary knowledge from our lecturers ( in some software
application) by organizing seminar presentation meetings with their full
participation.
 Ensuring the propar passage of knowledge aquired before departing
(Continuation)
 Ensuring the utilization of time ( industrial strike; during occurrence,
holiday period) with online training and there about
 Reducing to the best lowest term expenses on the student to draw interest
 Seeking for external funds
 The Organization must have adequate budget to purchase items that must
be aquired such as getting the organization system(s) (laptops), for software
installation, data keeping, record keeping , e. t. c.).
ARTICLE III AUTHORITY
SECTION 1: This organization is a recognized student organization at Ekiti State
University and adheres to all campus policies as set forth in the Ekiti State
University Code of Student Conduct and the Ekiti State University Student
Organization Policies and Guidelines.

SECTION 2: This organization will establish bylaws to govern administrative
and procedural matters (such as time and location of meetings, etc.). Bylaws shall
not conflict with this constitution. Bylaws may be adopted, amended, or
temporarily suspended by a majority vote present at an organization meeting
where a quorum is present.
SECTION 3: This Organization is saddle with responsibility of ensuring the
propar functioning of affiliated societal bodies that are found within the
Department. i.e. The leaders of each societal Groups automatically becomes a
member of the this Organization with proper mode of membership ( Nape,
AAPG, Nmgs, Seg, etc). Well organized systems will be set in place for propar
functions.
SECTION 4: This Organization will take control of the academic affairs of
department particularly pertaining to the student academic improvement by
allocation of past questions, Tutorials, etc.
ARTICLE IV MEMBERSHIP
SECTION 1: Membership in the organization shall be open to those regularly-
admitted into the Geology department of the Ekiti State University ( Geology and
geophysics options)
 Eligibility: To all
 Qualification of membership: Passing the required recruitment policy
SECTION 2: Eligibility for membership or appointed or elected student officer
positions may not be limited on the basis of race, religion, national origin,
ethnicity, color, age, gender, gender identity, marital status, citizenship, sexual
orientation, or disability. The organization shall have no rules or policies that
discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, color, age,
gender, gender identity, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or
disability.
SECTION 3: This organization shall have associated members who are non-
Eksuite (Alumni, bright students from other schools, etc.), Eksuites ( selected
students from each societal bodies especially intended leaders) students.
Associated members shall have all membership privileges except for the right to
vote or hold office. By Ekiti State University Office of Student Engagement and
Leadership practice, no more than 20 percent of the membership shall be
of .individuals who are not Eksuite students (e.g., community members, students
at other colleges, etc.).
SECTION 4 : No Membership of this organizations will be by invitation and if
there be; must pay the full requirement for a bonafide, certified member.

 SECTION 5: This organization will have a probationary period for new
members before they become full members. The first semester will be for the
probation period and if the required proceeds are meant (he or she must reach
89% merit of the activities carried out that semester) before he or she can obtain
full membership. But if not; must pass through screening and voting system setup
by the excos of this organization to dismiss or proceed to re- probation for the
next semester. If he or she is found wanting; dismissal will be the next option.
SECTION 6: All members of this organization must be part of more than one
societal body of the department.
ARTICLE V OFFICERS
SECTION 1: The officers of the [Geo-Technical team of Ekiti State University ]
shall be an elected ACADEMIC DIRECTOR (corresponding with the cec of the
department), PRESIDENT, VICE- PRESIDENT (IF NEEDED), SECRETARY
AND TREASURER AS WELL AS THE PROJECT DIRECTOR AND THE
P.R.O (PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER) : The Academic director is the frontier
of this organization as well as the representative of this organization to the CEC
of the department.
SECTION 2: In order to run for office in in the Geo-Technical team of Ekiti State
University, members must have a minimum cumulative grade point average
(g.p.a) of 3.5
SECTION 3: While in office officers must maintain a 3.6GPA and must not have
below 3.5 for more than one semester.
SECTION 4: Officers must be currently registered students.
SECTION 5: All officers serve for a term of ONE (1) SECTION or until their
successors shall be duly elected and qualified.
SECTION 6: Any officer who, during the term of office, fails to maintain status
as a student maintaining a 3.0 g.p.a., in good academic and disciplinary standing
shall be removed from office and a replacement shall he elected.
ARTICLE VI MEETINGS
SECTION 1: Regular meetings shall be held [insert when meeting times; i.e.
weekly, bi-weekly, monthly] during the academic year.
SECTION 2: Special meetings may be called by the President or a majority of the
Executive Board/Committee. All members must be given a minimum of 24 hours’
notice prior to the meeting time.

SECTION 3 [OPTIONAL]: Business cannot be conducted unless a quorum of the
membership is present. A quorum for this organization is defined as a majority of
the voting membership. [Note: Organizations may choose to have a lower
quorum, such as one- third, or a specific number of members].
SECTION 4: A member must be in good standing. This may include payment of
dues, meeting attendance requirement, academic requirement, etc. If there is an
attendance requirement, specify the number of excused and/or unexcused
absences that results in loss of privileges (availability for exciting world of
Geology, allocation of slot for societal bodies conferences, etc), and what
constitutes an excused absence, without adequate permission ( 24 hours before),
simultaneous excuses, etc as applicable. To be in good standing each member
must complete the required demand of each academic year.
ARTICLE VII UNIVERSITY ADVISOR(S)
SECTION 1: The Geo-Technical team of Ekiti State University shall have
University Advisors who will be a full- or part-time member of the University
faculty, staff, or administration. The advisor(s) will fulfill the responsibilities
specified in the Organization Guide for Advisors. SECTION 2: The Geo-
Technical team of Ekiti State University shall also have Advisors from their
Alumni body ( Geotech team alumni)
ARTICLE VIII FINANCES
SECTION 1: Membership dues shall not be less than 1000 per semester
SECTION 2: Dues shall be paid by [Specify due date, such as “second week of
each semester.] Or specific date given by the President [ Not more than 2weeks
after the deadline date].
SECTION 3 [OPTIONAL]: Members who have not paid their dues or special
assessments by the due date shall be considered as not being in good standing and
shall lose all membership privileges, until the dues are paid.
SECTION 4: Organization funds shall not be used to purchase or reimburse
members for alcoholic beverages.
SECTION 5: Organization can seek for funds from their staff advicers,
Alumni,..... etc.
ARTICE IX DISCLIPLINE OF MEMBERS
SECTION 1: All members of the Geo-Technical team of Ekiti State University
are expected to uphold the rules and regulations of the Ekiti State University
Student Code of Conduct and adhere to the policies and procedures set for in the
Ekiti State University Student Organization Policies.

SECTION 2: Members that violate the Student Code of Conduct and Student
Organization policies may face disciplinary action.

ARTICLE V AMENDMENTS
SECTION 1 Proposed amendments to this constitution shall be presented to the
membership, in writing, one meeting prior to the meeting where the amendment
will be voted upon. SUBSECTION 1[OPTIONAL] : The Executive Committee
and/or Bylaws Committee shall review and make recommendations on all bylaw
revisions prior to consideration by the membership.
SECTION 2: Constitution amendments require approval by two-thirds of the
voting members present at a regular meeting. The amendment shall be effective
immediately unless otherwise stipulated in the amendment.
SECTION 3: Constitution amendments must require the attention and advice of
alumni interested.

SECTION I: THE OFFICERS OF THE [THE GEO-TECHNICAL TEAM AT
EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY SHALL BE THE:

SECTION II POWERS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS:
Note: the Academic director is the external authority of the organization while it
have a 50% share of authority within the organization. The president have the
rest.
a. The Academic director shall serve as the chief executive officer of the
organization, shall preside at all meetings of the organization and shall prepare
the agenda for meetings with the full commitment of the president. The President
along side the Academic director shall appoint all committees and committee
chairs. The President shall have other powers and duties as may be prescribed by
the organization. The President shall be the chair man committee for the
establishment, functioning and report assessment for all societal bodies leaders
while a full report of all assessment goes to the Academic director for the
allocated duration. The president can preside the organization meetings in the
absence and permission of the Academic director.
b. The Vice President shall preside at organization meetings in the absence of the
President. The Vice President shall perform all legal duties assigned by the
President. The Vice-president shall be in charge of tutorial planning. The Vice
President shall assume the office of President if the office becomes vacant. The
Vice-president shall be part of the committees involve in project management.
C. The project director shall be in charge of all projet carried out by the
organization. The project director Must ensure commitment to all assigned will
one duty or the other. The project director Must check on indivual development
on projet carried out. The project director Must give assignment and discipline
with fine if any did not. The project director Must be equip

d. The Secretary shall take minutes at all meetings of the organization or allocate
it to is deputy, keep these on file, and submit copies to organization members
upon request. The Secretary shall be responsible for all organization
correspondence and shall keep copies on file. The Secretary shall maintain
membership records for the organization and must be part of the committee of
recruitment. The secretary must ensure the propar application of projects and
must give a summit of the end of each semester
e. The Treasurer shall handle all financial affairs and budgeting of the
organization, maintain all necessary accounting records, and prepare financial
reports for the membership. The Treasurer shall collect all dues (if applicable)
and revenue and deposit it into the organizations on campus account or off
campus account.
f. The P. R. O shall be in charge of dissemination of message, memo. The P. R. O
shall be in charge for the reminder of scheduled meeting, meeting place, etc.
SECTION III QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO HOLD OFFICE IN THE
GEO-TECHNICAL TEAM OF EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY ARE AS
FOLLOWS:
a. Geo-Technical team of Ekiti State University policies require that to be eligible
for office, candidates must be in good academic and disciplinary standing and
current enrolled students at the Elkiti State University. Additionally, students
must have at least a 3.5 g.p.a to be eligible to hold an office.
b. No member may hold more than one office. No member may serve more than
two years in the same office.
SECTION IV ELECTIONS
a. Elections are held not later than Two weeks after the inauguration of the newly
elected Academic director and shall take place at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the organization at which a quorum is present. At least one week’s notice shall
be provided for any meeting at which an election is to be held.
b. Nominations for officers shall be made at the regular meeting immediately
preceding the election. Nominations may also be made from the floor immediately
prior to the election for each office. Members may nominate themselves for an
office. Examples of the qualifications & procedures for nominations:
 Any person considering an elected officer position should become familiar
with that respective position by reading the duties listed in the constitution
and/or shadowing the current officer for a minimum period of time.
 Any person nominated must be in good standing with the organization.

  Persons nominated must be present in the nomination meeting.
 Persons nominated must verify that they will be returning in the fall
semester to fulfill their position if elected as an officer
 Persons nominated for the position of President or Vice-President must
verify that if they will be returning in fall, that they will be committed to a
full term of service of the organization.
 Nominations must be made one week prior to official elections.
 Nominations may be submitted in writing by email or in person at the
meeting.
c. Officers shall be elected by majority vote. If no candidate receives a majority
vote, a runoff election shall be held between the two candidates receiving the
highest number of votes.
SECTION V EXECUTIVE BOARD/COMMITTEE
a. The Executive Board/Committee shall consist of the elected and appointed
officers, with the advisor(s) (Alumni interested) serving as non-voting member(s).
b. The Executive Board/Committee shall have general supervision of the affairs of
the organization between meetings and is authorized to take action when action
must be taken prior to the next meeting.
c. The Executive Board/Committee shall report to the membership all actions
taken between meetings. Except when it is too late to do so (such as when a
contract has been executed), any actions taken by the Executive
Board/Committee may be rescinded or modified by the membership by a
majority vote.
SECTION VI UNIVERSITY ADVISOR(S):
a. The advisor shall fulfill the responsibilities specified in the Academic director
of the Geology department for that section. Advisors shall serve on an academic,
financial, and development bases.
b. The advisor (staff) shall participate in the advisor training or recertification
process yearly.
c.The advisor should attend at least one regular meeting per semester in addition
to the meeting of elections(If possible or necessary).
SECTION VII MEETINGS AND VOTING:
a. Regular meetings shall be scheduled during the academic year.

b. Special meetings may be called by the President/Academic director or a
majority of the Executive Board/Committee. All members must be given a

Geology, allocation of slot for societal bodies conferences, etc), and what
constitutes an excused absence, without adequate permission ( 24 hours before),
simultaneous excuses, etc as applicable. To be in good standing each member
must complete the required demand of each academic year.
SECTION VIII SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
a. Special Committees may be established by the Executive Board and shall
perform such duties as defined in their establishment; such as a particular
project committee ( see to the execution of such project)
b. The Executive Board/Committee shall appoint, and may remove, committee
members and a Chairperson for each committee except the project director. But
if not pro-ative can be impeached.
SECTION IX FINANCES :

SECTION X. DISCIPLINE OF MEMBERS

a. When a member believes that another member has engaged in conduct that is
detrimental to the organization, a conversation should be held with either the
organization Advisor.
b. If warranted, a written charge may be filed to the Advisor(s)
c. The Advisor(s) shall review the charge(s) and may conduct a preliminary
investigation if deemed appropriate. If the preliminary investigation concludes
that misconduct appears to have occurred, the Advisor(s) work with the
Executive Board/Committee to determine if any sanctions are warranted.
Possible sanctions may include expulsion, suspension, or lesser sanction(s)
including, but not limited to, a reprimand, removal from office, a fine or other
corrective remedy.
SECTION XI. DISSOLUTION:
a. Upon the dissolution of the Geo-Technical team of Ekiti State University for
any reason, all work, funds, and property controlled by the organization will be
given to the department of Geology, Ekiti State University.
SECTION XII. NON-HAZING CLAUSE:
Geo-Technical team of Ekiti State University requires non of its alumni,
associates, potential new members, new members, members, or others to
participate in any form of hazing. Hazing is defined as any planned or
spontaneous activity or situation, whether on or off campus, that is demeaning to
an individual; calculated to produce ridicule or harassment; produce physical or
mental duress; reduce a person to a state of subjection by physical or
psychological means which impairs or destroys and individual’s freedom of
thought; or in any way threatens or endangers the health or safety of an
individual. Such activities or situations include, but are not limited to:
• Any form of paddling
• Any activity which causes physical discomfort, pain or excessive fatigue
• Any morally demeaning, embarrassing or humiliating experience
• Activities which produce physical, psychological or emotional duress
• Any unnecessary, mandatory activities which interfere with academic class
schedules or other scholastic activities
SECTION XIII. IMPEACHMENT
Any member may initiate officer removal by the following procedure.

a. Petition executive board/committee with signature of 1/3 of all voting members
petition should state reason for removal (excluding the involve party)
b. Executive Board with shall then notify officers and call for removal vote within
fourteen days of filing the petition.
c. Memberships shall be notified at least one week prior to removal vote meeting
d. At the meeting for removal, the petition stated grievances shall be made public
and the officer charged shall be allowed to respond to the charges of the petition
e. Removal from office shall require a vote of 2/3 of all voting members.
SECTION XIIII. VACANCY OF OFFICE
a. In case of resignation or removal of any officer, an interim acting officer shall
be appointed by the Executive Board.
b. The President/Academic director shall call for an election within fourteen days
after vacancy of any office.
c. Elections shall be conducted as stated in the bylaws.
d. Should the office of President become vacant, the Vice-President should
complete the President’s unexpired term and call for an election for Vice-
President consistent with elections process set forth in the bylaws.
SECTION XV. AMENDMENTS
a. Proposed amendments to these bylaws shall be presented to the membership, in
writing, one meeting prior to the meeting where the amendment will be voted
upon. [Optional]: The Executive Committee and/or Bylaws Committee shall
review and make recommendations on all bylaw revisions prior to consideration
by the membership.
b. Bylaw amendments require approval by two-thirds of the voting members
present at a regular meeting. The amendment shall be effective immediately
unless otherwise stipulated in the amendment.
c. A copy of any amendments to these bylaws must be submitted to the Staff
advicers, Alumni and HOD of the department of Geology.
These bylaws were adopted on 5th January 2023 and most recently revised on
[insert date of latest edits].
