45th Annual Day
Venue: Sion Hr. Sec School, Vadalur
A very Good Evening to all of you! On behalf of Sion Hr. Sec School fraternity, I
feel truly honoured to welcome you on the occasion of '45th Annual Day
Function' of our school. I am happy and proud to present the annual report of
2024-2025. Our school career started by our founder Mr. V. Samuel. He alone
started this institution in June 1980. In a Small initiative called South Arcot, he
started it as S.D Eden School, in Muthandi Kuppam. Under this pioneership it then
branched out in Vadalur, Boothangudi, Solatharam, Serakuppam and Sethiyathopu
covering around 257 Villages in Cuddalore district. By the year 1988, the ended up
his partnership with Mr. Thomas and continue here in the Name of S.D. Son School
and have branches in Boothangudi, solatharam and sethiyathopu. Long cherished
dream have turned into reality under the leadership and guidance of Mr.Samuel
and Santy Samuel.
From the year 2020, Vadalur, Serakuppam Solatharam, Sethiathope Schools
were undertaken by our correspondent Mr. Pravin Samuel and principal mam
Mrs. Evance pravin in .2020 Being the year of pandamic with lot of challenges
around, we developed our school in an excellent way. The Results has gone
higher in these years competing with other institutions. Most of the students
have gone to a nice position. We have upgraded the infrastructure by
constructing lab facilities for the students. Second floor of the main building
was built in the recent year. Apart from the Nursery, LKG to V Std classes were
started in our Hr. Sec. Campus.
About the School Management:
Our school has honed and fine-tuned a learning and life skilling system that
has been envied and benchmarked across the region for the past 45 years.
An investment made in Sion Hr. Sec School pays many dividends through life.
From the moment the child enters the school gate as a 4-year old, the kid
gets to realise who he is; and where his potential lies. Irrespective of his
background or calibre, he is groomed and nurtured in a way that he can
stride into the adult world, confidently, responsibly and independently.
Yet, in today's world, no institution of repute and quality can afford to sit on
its laurels. So, a decisive shift in pedagogical approach under the able
guidance of opportunities provided to our students which they practice
following a structured schedule.
Our Motto:
At Sion Hr. Sec School, we believe that the school is not only the centre of
learning but also encompasses a strong bond between faculty members,
parents and the students where children are never robbed of their
independence rather encouraged to gather the complete advantage of
being under rules and regulations, because whenever the adults seek
control on a child, the child is lost forever.
We are grooming our students to be confident, happy and secured youth of
tomorrow. They act as effective stepping stone to move from the familiar,
safe cocoon of the home to the uncertain, challenging world outside.

Our school students appeared for board exam of class X for the session
2023-2024 and performed well. The top rank holders are

Parents Teacher Meeting:
Parent’s teacher meeting was conducted after the conclusion of exams. We
interact the students’ performance with the parents and get their suggestion
in their performance. We also counsel them to get their utmost
performance by understanding their external difficulties.
TEACHERS ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMES:
Teacher enrichment programmes are conducted regularly. This year Dr.V.P.Mony,
founder and correspondent of Evans group of schools,Nagercoil visited our school
and conducted Teacher enrichment programme. Generally every month teacher’s
progress is monitored and suggestions were given for the development. Montessori
trained teacher from CBSE School visited and trained our kindergarten teachers for
two days.
VAN TRIP
Our van facilities are up to high standards regarding travelling. The
student’s safety is our main concern and for every van our staffs are taking
care of these kids.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
CCTV cameras were increasingly used in our campus for the safety of our
children. In every nook and corner we have cameras for the protection of
our kids. No one will enter the campus without the permission of our
correspondent sir.
MAJOR EVENTS:
NEYVELI BOOK FAIR:
As part of our commitment to fostering love for reading and lifelong
learning our students had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Neyveli
Book Fair on 6th July 2024. The visit was on enriching experience, exposing
them to a vast collection of books across various genres, including
literature, science, history and self-improvement. Students browsed
through a wide range of books and intracted with publishers and author.
The visit helped to enhance their knowledge, reading habits and
appreciation for literature. It was presided over by our correspondent
Mr.Praveen sir.
EXCURSION AND PICINC
Our students from 10th, 11th, 12th went to an educational tour to
mahabalipuram and vandalur zoo. There they were guided by persons and
came to knew about the monuments and animals. As part of our
experimental learning inabilities, the students visited Nehru park, where
they enjoyed a day filled with exploration and outdoor activities . The visit
provided an opportunity to appreciate nature and learn about the park’s
environment. Additionally, the students had a exiting ride on the toy train,
which added a fun and memorable element of the trip.
KAMARAJAR BIRTHDAY
Kamarajar birthday was Celebrated on 15-07 2024 in our school in a grand
manner. His birthday is celebrated as "Educational development day" . As
a part of Celebration, essay & oratorical competitions were Conducted
standard wise to portrait Kamarajar's elevations as a simple person to a
successful Kingmaker of Indian Cabinet.
INDEPENDENCE DAY
The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great joy at our school
premises. On this day, the school campus was nicely decorated
with flowers and flags. Our principal mam hoisted the national flag, March
past and band displayed by the students. Our chief guest Mr Raja Inspector
of police distributed the prizes for the winners in various competitions.
Cultural activities such as dance and music, drama and speech were
organized by the school. Sweets and chocolates were distributed to
everyone.
TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
Our school celebrated the teacher’s day on 5th of September with great
enthusiasm. On September 5th 2024, a grand programme was organised
by the students of XI and XII in our school premises to honour their
teachers. The program started at 9.15am with a prayer song. All the staff
members offered a tribute Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Students
expressed their gratitude towards the teachers by giving short speeches.
Students performed cultural activities like dance, poem and drama. All the
teachers enjoyed and appreciated the program. Finally, sweets and prizes
were distributed for the teachers as the token of love and affection.
CLUB:
(i) Tamil Club:
Tamil literacy club involved in conducting competitions like oratorical,
poetry writing, essay writing, singing, mono acting etc.. On regular basis
and prize were distributed for the winners. This provides a platform for the
students to exhibit their talent and creativity. The club motivated the
students and made them to exhibit models, charts and tradional medicines.
(ii) ENGLISH CLUB:
"Language shapes the way we think, and determines what we can think
about." It helps to boost the confidence in students so that they can freely
communicate in English.
Students are taught about the grammar, sentence formation, vocabulary
and expressions when writing reports and articles. From time to time, the
club organizes a rich and diverse array of literacy activities such as
debates, group discussions, poetry writing and recitation, short story
writing, quiz contests and interactive sessions. Club also inspires to work in
groups. So students will develop mutual understanding and social
relationship within the group.
(iii) MATHS CLUB
A maths club is an extra-curricular activity that encourages students to
enjoy and learn maths in a funny way. We can explore concepts, develop
problem-solving skills and build interest in the subject to the students
especially for the lower class students. Quizzes, puzzles, games, code-
breaking were conducted for them.
(iv) SCIENCE CLUB
We organized field trips to our nearby places for this club. Students can
develop their knowledge towards science in activities like experiments,
exhibitions and competitions. Making slime, growing mold, conducting
experiments were done with immediate effect.
(v) SOCIAL CLUB
These clubs can help people meet new one and form friendship's peor our
Pupil can learn new skills and share their own experiences finding places
in maps in world and Asia Weekly meetings were the activities held in our
social clubs
SEASON DAY:
The season day celebration was a wonderful learning experience and
helped students connect with nature and understand the diversity of
seasons. Each class performed different season and dressed according to
the season and brought food, snacks according to the season of their
class. It was a memorable event that fostered creativity, awareness and
joy among all participants.
ORANGE DAY:
We celebrated orange colour day from LKG to 2nd Std. The celebration was
a vibrant and joyful event that brought energy and entertainment to our
institution. The colour orange symbolizes happiness, positivity and warmth
was the central theme of the day. Various engaging activities were
organized including art and craft sessions, storytelling, music performance
and interactive games all incorporating the orange colour.
FRUITS DAY
It is celebrated to highlight the health benefits of eating fruits, the
importance of a balanced diet and the diversity of fruits. It boosts immunity
promote digestion, support cardio Vascular health. Students can learn
these through fruit day.
CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION
We celebrated children's day on 14th November, 2024, with great Festive
fervour, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
We conducted many competitions. The programme began with a prayer
followed by informative and inspirational speech by the correspondent sir.
The students performed various Cultural activities like dance, Kavithai and
fancy dress. Teachers played a drama and enthralled the audience with
their energetic dance. The event culminated with the vote of thanks
followed by National Anthem.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
The students of primary and pre-Primary section presented a variety
entertainment programme on 21 December 2024 to celebrate Christmas.
The Celebration held at our school premises. The ceremony began with
prayer, after that various programs were organized one after another. The
whole event was meticulously planned by Cultural committee members,
under the guidance of correspondent Mr. Pravin. Our vice principal mam
welcomed our chief guest followed by a prayer. Pastor Santhosh and
Pastor Jebaraj brought the spirit and gaiety of Christmas Eve. Pastor
Benjamin shared some interesting facts related to the festival.Then
Christmas feast was shared.
PONGAL CELEBRATION
On 11th Jan 2025 (Saturday) we celebrated pongal festival in our school.
Our school correspondent Mr.Pravin has presided over the function in the
presence of our founder mr Samuel, Headmistress Santy Devabell mam
and Principal mam. In this celebration, we conducted so many games and
competitions and students had participated in most of these games and
Competitions like Rangoli, Cooking Pongal and Uriyadi attracted the
students to participate in it. Our chief guest awarded prizes for the students
who have won.
UPCOMING EVENTS
(i)CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING
For our school 10th and 12th std Students we are going to organise Career
guidance program. It helps our Students to choose various options related
to their interests and strengths. A vast experienced person who have Much
Knowledge about it going to give Counselling for our students
(ii)SCIENCE EXHIBITION
Science exhibitions are events of displays organized by schools to educate
and engage students and individuals by showcasing and explaining
concepts discoveries, innovations and experiment. We are planning to
organise it in our School premises. We have so Many talented kids in our
institutions.
CONCLUSION:
We stand committed to our pledge for bringing out the best in each student
of Sion and ensuring all that is required to reaffirm that “Every child of the
school is an asset”. I would like to conclude, by extending our sincere
thanks to all the parents and each one on you who have lent a supportive
hand down through the years, in all our endeavours to produce a confident,
dedicated and capable batch of students each year. Thus, shapes the
future of your children who are the destiny of this country. I hope you enjoy
the cultural programme to be presented by our Students and your evening
with us is a pleasurable one
