Wise consumers are knowledgeable about his or her rights and
responsibilities.
Consumer Rights
1. the right to basic needs

6. the right to redress or remedy
7. the right to consumer education
8. the right to a healthy environment
Consumer Responsibilities
1. use products and services for their intention
2. choose products and services that are affordable and of good quality
3. report or notify to the concerned agency any case of fraud (scam or
deception) for products or services that do not meet expectations
Importance of Consumer Health
1. It makes people aware of the quality of goods that they purchase.
2. It helps people to take right service on right time.
3. It gives the knowledge of the existing laws and protection of their
consumer rights.
4. It helps to encourage consumer to be united and raise collective voice
against the practice of adulteration and quackery.
F. Developing Mastery (Leads to Formative Assessment) Groupings:
Group 1: Choosing the necessities in life. Put on the basket the needs as a
wise consumer.
Group 2: Consumer rights or responsibilities?
Group 3: Health Service or Health product?
G. Finding Practical Application of concepts and skills in Think-Pair-Share Approach
daily living. Decide on the things a wise consumer should purchase. The good things
should be placed on the “Tree of Life” and the bad things be dumped and
pasted on the trash bin.
H. Making Generalization and abstraction about the lesson Who are the consumers?
Is it important to know our rights as a consumer?
