Good morning class! Good morning, ma’am!

As I Call your name, say present and who are
absent today? We are all good ma’am.

Very good! Thank you, ma’am.

 Review .
So, before we proceed to our main discussion, let’s
us first recall our past lesson.

Direction: I have here a ball; I will play music and

passed the ball. Whenever the music stops, the one
who’s holding the ball will answer the questions.

Are you ready class!

3. How does the earthquakes distribute on
the map and where are the located?
. Earthquake is
distributed along the
edges of plate tonic.
Very good class, I see that all of you can still
remember your previous lessons.
Engage To start with let’s perform a short activity. (student play the games)

Good job everyone! Keep your answer as we go on

in this topic.

Elaborate So, I have a picture and Oreo cookie here to

demonstrate what does the three plate boundaries
occurs:
In this pictures it shows the three plate boundaries.

What is plate boundaries ?

Plate boundaries are the lines at the edges of
the different pieces of the lithosphere. Lithospheric
plates are moving due to the convection current in
the earths interior.
The first picture shows

boundaries

Very good !

Divergent Plate boundaries is when two plates

move away from each other, this is what happens.
New crust is formed as molten rock from the matle
erupts along the opening. Divergent plate motions
created Rift valley in africa , the Red sea and the
Gulf of eden.

The second picture

How about the second picture?
represent the convergent
Very good!
plate boundaries ma’am
Convergent boundaries are formed when two
plates move toward each other. The oceanic plate
bends downward at the subduction zone. This
occurs in two oceanic plates: convergent boundary
and continental plate- oceanic plate convergent
boundary. Oceanic plate sinks because it is denser
than the continental plate. In the case of
convergence of two oceanic plates, the older plate
sinks. Whereas in the convergence of two
continental plates, they collide and buckle up
forming mountain ranges. No subduction occurs in
this type of convergence.

How about the last picture?

Ma’am it is transform
When two tectonic plate slide past each other, the fault plate boundary.
plate where they meet is a transform or literal
fault. It occurs when plates slide or grind past each
other and San Andreas fault is one of the best
examples of lateral plate motion. And it is bounded
by the North American plate and the pacific plate.

Do you have any questions class about our

discussion today?
Evaluate Since we are done discussing the types of plate
boundaries, we will have a short quiz regarding to
our topic.
Please get 1/4 sheet of paper. So, for the direction,
choose the letter of the best answer.

1. Himalayas mountain range is the result of

Indian and Eurasian plate moving toward
each other. What plate boundary is
involved?

b. Transform
c. Convergent
d. Fault
2. It is two tectonic plates move toward each
other and collide, and also known as
destructive plate boundary

3. What type of plate boundary is involved in
this plate movement?

4. At the convergent plate boundary, .
a. new crust is created
b. the crust separates
c. the older crust is recycled by subduction
d. plates side past one another
5. What plate boundary is formed by the
sliding of two plates?
a. Divergent

carefully. Write BLUFF if the statement is TRUE and
write the FACT if the statement is false and change
the word that makes it false.

______________1. San Andreas fault was formed

due to the collision of two continental plates

______________2. When a continental plate

collides with an oceanic plate, the oceanic plate
sinks beneath the continental plate
