The values of correction factors KT are based on resistance-temperature

coefficient of 0.004 per °C at 20°C.

The correction factors given in this table are satisfactory for most
applications. They are based upon copper having 100 per cent conductivity
and are derived from the formula:

234.5 + T1
KT =
234.5 + T
Where :
T1 = 20°C
T = desired temp., °C

TESP10402R0/YM Date of Approval: December 16, 2006 PAGE NO. 6 OF 9

TRANSMISSION ENGINEERING STANDARD TES-P-104.02, Rev. 0

For aluminum having 61 percent conductivity, the correction factors are

derived from the formula:

228 + T1
KT =
228 + T

Where :
T1 = 20°C
T = desired temp., °C

If using values of R1 at T1 = 20°C from Table 02-1, and KT from Table 02-2,
then, R2 = R1/KT.

R1 = resistance in ohms at T1 = 20°C

R2 = resistance in ohms at desired temp., °C

KT = correction factor at desired temp., °C from Table 02-2.
