WRITING A SHORT PARAGRAPH AND PROVIDING
ANOTHER ENDING TO A STORY LISTENED TO
Background Information:
Everybody loves to listen to a good story. It’s the ending of the story that makes
the reader remember it. All stories have a beginning and an ending. Some stories have
happy endings and some have sad endings.
But you can give stories you listened to with another ending. In giving stories with
another ending, remember the story elements listed below.
ELEMENTS OF A STORY:
Listen as your parent/guardian reads the story “My Father, My Hero”. The last paragraph
gives the ending of the story. It isa happy and beautiful ending.
Example:
                                                       My Father, My Hero
My father is a doctor. He works in a
nearby hospital. Before the pandemic, he reports
to work early in the morning and goes home
before sundown. We usually eat our dinner
together, father, mother and me. One dinner time,
                                        father was not around.
Dinner without him became more often. Mother
said father was still in the hospital treating
patients with COVID19. Father is a front liner!
I was getting used to having dinner without him
because I know he is a front liner. When suddenly,
one evening, he arrived, after taking a bath, gladly
joined us for dinner. His patients have been
healed and discharged. Finally, father can spend
dinner time with me and mother!

things. It is where you also write your experiences, problems and worries. In writing
a diary, you can be very honest because you are writing to no one but yourself.
In writing your own diary, you can start by simply following these steps:
 1. Write the date in the corner of the first line
 of your paper.
You may not write in your diary every day, so
dating your entries can help you keep track of
 when things happened.
If you like, you can also put the time, day of the
week, and your location alongside the date.
                                                5
In writing a diary, don't worry too much about grammar and spelling. Your diary is a safe

any feeling you are struggling with.
