Thank you for your time. We are looking forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
The Global Village Staff
Your name: Maya V-Kim Age: 4
Please tell us why you have chosen to enroll in Global Village School. What
is it about the school that attracted you? What do you hope to experience
and/or accomplish during your time with us? (Or, if it was not your choice to
enroll - who made the choice and how do you feel about it?)
I (Maya) chose Village School because I think it’s nice to study at home.
Also now, in normal schools, the Corona Virus is spreading, and it is dan-
gerous. So, I like to school at home. Because, there is no Virus in my home-
school. I want to homeschool many different things with Global Village
School.

Tell us about your previous school, if any. What did you like or dislike about
the school, the classrooms, the teachers, or the other students? What was
your most favorite and least favorite part of the school day?
Last year, I started Montessori homeschool with mommy, I liked drawing
and painting with different materials, I liked learning about shapes, feeling
them (Sue: she’s talking about tactile activities here BTW), talking about it
to study them etc. I liked everything about my homeschool.
When you have some free time, what do you love to do?
Playing outside in the garden(forest) and cooking.
(Sue: If I may add, she voluntarily spends a lot of her time on creative en-
deavours. Also, she’s very much drawn to healing. She spends a lot of her
time playing doctor with her toys, the main theme being; them getting hurt
then Maya bandaging them with various materials. She says ‘she likes be-
ing a doctor because she’s able to help sick animals and people’, she
means her toys… :))
What special gifts and talents do you have?
Drawing and painting. Cooking and running fast.
Who has had the greatest influence on your life? Please explain.
Mommy, because I need a teacher to learn at the homeschool and my mom
does that for me.
Who do you respect or admire the most? Please explain.

All insects and animals because it’s nice to respect and admire them.
Have you done any kind of community service (volunteer) work before? If
so, please describe what you did.
(from Sue: We haven’t done any formally or long term, but this is certainly
something we would like to try out once the virus thing fades out)
How good are you at disciplining yourself? Do you work well on your own?
Do you need someone to check on you to make sure you’re keeping up with
your work? If so, is there someone at home who will help you with that?
Maya: Yes, yes, yes, and yes.
(From Sue: To be honest… I’d say half and half. She can sit there for quite
sometime completely absorbed in the activity, but sometimes, she gets dis-
tracted uncontrollably… She likes to show her work (rather than getting
checked on), she never asks help with thing she can do well. If she’s confi-
dent or drawn, she works independently quite well. I have noticed that her
independence grow too. Also, she’s very sensitive to getting it wrong), but
like with everything, once she understand the points logically, she gets over
it and learns very quickly.
