UNIT 0-UNIT 1 “My school”


Goals:
1. Overview

- Have an overview on basic questions and answers


- Have an overview on basic conversations among Ss
- Give personal information about themselves and others
- Manage themselves in the classroom by using the “classroom
language” and get used to use English at all times.

2. My School

- Answer questions identifying classroom objects in full


sentences
- Follow classrooms commands and directions
- Ask and answer questions related to the classroom
- Talk about the school where they study and describe it

1st Class

will ask ss to close their eyes and listen to each sound and identify it. Then
the T will ask them questions about each sound (is it an object, a transport,
a person, an animal, etc). 10 MIN

Practice:
 Introduce yourself. The T is going to show Ss a picture of herself and
give them information about her. 10 MIN

- Name
- Age (years old)
- Occupation (student)
- Nationality
- Place of living (I live ...)
- Favorite color
- Parents’ name (My mother’s name is ...)
Students in turns must introduce themselves following the guide. The T
will ask Ss to bring some pictures of themselves or send the pictures to the
teacher to make it more realistic.

 Virtual tennis. Ss must pretend they are playing tennis (with some
rackets but without ball). Each of them has to give some information
about himself and then hit the ball, then the student in front of him
must say something about him and then hit the ball, the first student
who is not able to continue or has nothing to add will lose and
another student must take his racket (remember to disinfect it any
time another student is going to use it) 10 min

Color game. Ss must take a piece of paper. T will ask them to write 3 red
objects, 2 blue objects, 1 green object, something black, etc. The first one

Production
 The T will explain the difference between I and I’m. The T will give
each student a set of papers or will read them and Ss must classify
them into I or I’m (use to paper cups, one with I written on it and
another one with I’m written on it for the Ss to categorize in each
cup)

Ice-Breaker: I spy with my little eye classroom objects 5 min
Presentation:
Running Dictation to pick up classroom objects. The T would give each
student a bucket and would say pick up 3 pencils, 2 rubbers etc. Then the T
would ask them what they have in the bucket for the SS to report it and use
I have ... 10 min
Practice

 The T will use as many balloons as ss are in the classroom. In each


balloon, the T will put some phrases like the ones written above (live
in san isidro, a girl, a boy, etc.). Each Ss will take a balloon and
classify the sentences into I or I am pasting them on their notebooks
10 min

 Routines flashcards. Jump if you listen to your routine. Each Ss will


have a routine flashcard in front of him/her (Get up, have breakfast,
etc.) When the teacher names the flashcard, the ss must jump over
the flashcard and name it too. 10

 The T would ask Ss what they have in their pencil cases 5 min

 The T would ask Ss what they have in their backpacks 5 min
