Social entrepreneurship is a process by which
citizens build​ or transform institutions to advance
solutions to social problems,​such as poverty,
illness, illiteracy, environmental destruction,​
human rights abuses and corruption, in order to
make Life better for many.​

Greg Dees, who is often referred to as the


father of social​ entrepreneurship education.
Social entrepreneurs, he explains, create​ public
value, pursue new opportunities, innovate and
adapt,​act boldly, leverage resources they don’t
control, and exhibit a​ strong sense of
accountability.​

• Non ideological : The usual ideologies and principals do not withhold social
Entrepreneurs. They are always looking at breaking them.
• They are comfortable with autonomy.
• They are resilient and can work amidst extreme criticism.
• They have an “inner locus of control”.
• David Mc Clelland in his book the “The Achieving Society- Overestimates
chances of success to be acquired through skill
• Good listeners.
• They have the patience, energy and enthusiasm to teach others.
• They combine Innovation, Resources and Opportunity to derive solutions to
Social problems.
