PROCEDURE TEXT
The definition of procedure text is the text that instruct or explains how something works or
how to do something.
The genric structure :
• Title: Is the goal of the activity
• Materials: It is the list and amount of thing, and materials required.
• Steps : A detailed, step-by-step guide on how to achieve the goal
Language Features :
1. Use of Imperative Verbs (Commands)
Procedure texts often use imperative verbs (commands or instructions) to direct the reader
on what to do. For example:
• "Mix the flour and sugar."
• "Cut the vegetables into small pieces."
• "Turn off the stove."
2. Squential Connectors
These are words or phrases used to show the order of steps. They help the reader understand
the sequence in which tasks should be performed. Examples include:
a. First, Then, Next, After that, Finally, Before, After
b. "First, gather all your ingredients."
c. "Next, preheat the oven."
Example :
Title : How to Brush Your Teeth Properly
Materials :
• A soft toothbrush
• Toothpaste
• Water
Steps :
1. Squezee some toothpaste onto the brush
2. Add a litlle water
3. Gentlt brush each sides of every tooth
4. Gently brush gums as well
5. Rinse your mouth with water
