The Vietnamese word for bread is banh mi, but it also refers to a type of Vietnamese traditional
baguette. The Vietnamese baguette banh mi is filled with meat, vegetables, butter, and sauce. This
way of making the banh mi looks like making a sandwich. That is why foreigners call it a
sandwich although its shape is a baguette.
People can choose from a wide variety of main ingredients (grilled pork, fish patty, fried egg, etc.)
