INFORMAL DEFINITION

technical, and often used in
academic or professional
contexts. It provides a detailed
and clear description of the
meaning.

the term belongs.
3. The differentiating characteristics that
distinguish it from all others of its class.

A library is a building or room that houses a

systematic way, often by subject, and
provides a quiet space for reading,

By What It Is Not
Freedom is not the absence of all rules or
restrictions. It is not the ability to do anything
without consequence or responsibility. Rather, it
is the state of having the ability to make choices
within a framework of laws and ethical standards
that ensure fairness and equality for all
individuals.
