Fellowship Program
Moderna, in collaboration with Howard University,
is pleased to offer 2 PharmD fellowships in Medical
Affairs to expose qualified Doctor of Pharmacy
graduates to the biopharmaceutical industry, and
to enhance the unique insights Pharmacists can
contribute. The fellowship is two years in duration
and will be based out of Moderna’s headquarters in
Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Medical Affairs PharmD Fellowships
2 Positions
The Global Medical Affairs (GMA) team partners with healthcare professionals to
generate and share knowledge to advance practice and deliver on the promise
of therapies and vaccines derived from an mRNA platform. We play an active
role throughout the product lifecycle to ensure healthcare professionals, patients,
and payers have the necessary information to evaluate transformative therapies,
while building a sustainable and resilient function within Moderna. The fellow will
join the Global Medical Affairs team in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The Global Medical Affairs team at Moderna will provide PharmD graduates
the opportunity to gain rapid experience in the pharmaceutical industry within
Medical Affairs while working on diverse projects to deepen their understanding
of product development and commercialization.
The fellow will focus on Medical Affairs strategy including scientific
communications and medical product strategy. The fellow may take part in
projects covering 2-3 medical affairs specialties, including:
• Medical Product Strategy in various therapeutic areas including vaccines,
oncology, and rare disease
• Scientific Communications
• Publications
• Medical Information
• Medical Affairs Operations
• Real World Evidence Generation
Projects will be assigned based on the fellow’s areas of interest and available
opportunities to build the fellow’s competencies as a medical affairs professional.
Additionally, the fellow may have the option to take part in a 1-3 month rotation in
another department outside of Global Medical Affairs at Moderna.

Application Requirements
ELIGIBILITY APPLICATION REVIEW AND INTERVIEW TIMELINE
To be eligible for a Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship Following a review of submitted applications,
at HUCOP, candidates should have graduated with preliminary interviews will begin in December 2024
PharmD or PhD, in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related during ASHP. Additional interviews, including final

As a fellow in Moderna’s Regulatory Policy and Intelligence
function, I’ve had an incredible opportunity to immerse myself
in the forefront of biopharmaceutical innovation. Having access
to and learning from industry leaders in such a cutting-edge
technology company has been truly transformative. This
fellowship has not only exposed me to new and exciting
landscapes in pharma, but it also emphasizes a patient-first
approach in everything we do. I’ve been fortunate to work in
an environment that fosters collaboration and mentorship,
where everyone is eager to teach and guide. I have been given
opportunities to lead relevant and important projects as a fellow,
building my skillset as an industry professional and preparing
me to serve as a subject matter expert. The flexibility to tailor
my fellowship experience to my interests has allowed me to
lead initiatives that resonate with my passion for solutions.
