1. You are driving home from
school and you drive past a
house owned by a person you
do not like. Their door is left
wide open and it does not
look like anyone is home.

2. You have been working all


day and are starving. You
forgot your wallet at home
and do not have any money
on you. You walk past a
muffin bar that is
unattended, a hot batch of
warm choc chip muffins are
staring at you.

3. You are already 10 minutes


late for work and there is a
traffic jam.

4. You are taking a psychology


test that you know you did
not study for. You really want
to do well and your teacher
has left the room.

5. Mary has been studying for


weeks for the final exam in
calculus. The test is Monday.
On Friday afternoon her
boyfriend, Paul, tells her that
he has tickets for the
Saturday and Sunday
performances of her favorite
annual Shakespeare Festival.
