Helsink{: The Finnish Prine Minister has expressed
their concerns to the Soviet anbassador over the
increasing military activity along their border. The
Prine Minister has sought assurances that the Soviet
Union will not violate Finnish sovereignty during
this tine of crisis. No representative of the Soviet
enbassy was available for comnent.

Soviet Build-up on the Border
s10: NATO forces continue to resist Warsaw Pact
attacks across West Germany's eastern border,
but several thrusts have broken through on the
north German plain, threatening Erenen and the
Netherlands. Meanwhile, Soviet activity in the
Norwegian Sea on the northern border near Kirkenes
has dramatically increased and mobilised Norwegian
forces have been preparing for and expect an attack.
It is understood further NATO troops will reinforce
northern Norway.

Breaking: Despite repeated reassurances that Finland's:
territorial sovereignty would not be breached, Soviet
troops crossed the border today. Soviet forces have:
attacked into Lapland in the north, and into the
provinces of Kynenlaskso, South Karelia, and North
Karelia in the south. In an address to the nation the
President has stated Finland will not bow to bullying,
especially to allow an attack on a fellow Nordic
nation, and that Finland will strongly resist this
attack. The foreign minister has flown to Stockhol
today for urgent talks with their Swedish counterpart
‘and the NATO Secretary General.
