7 Required EEDI

According to MARPOL Annex VI, Regulation 21, the required EEDI is (1-x/100)×Reference line value.
Where, x is the reduction factor for the required EEDI compared to te EEDI reference line.
-c
The reference line value=a×b where a,b and c are the parameters for determination of reference values
for the different ship types.

This ship is Tanker.

And, EEDI application phase is 2 (1 Jan 2020 - 31 Dec 2024 ).
a = 1218.80, b = 49,037, c = 0.488, x = 20
Therefore, reference line value = 6.265

As a condition, for this vessel;

▸ Attained EEDI = 3.430 g/t.nm
▸ Required EEDI = 5.012 g/t.nm (Phase 2)
▸ Regulation criteria is satisfied with 31.57 % margin.

▸ Required EEDI = 4.386 g/t.nm (Phase 3)

▸ Regulation criteria is satisfied with 21.79 % margin
(This vessel have to satisfy the Phase 2 of Required EEDI as mandatory, and also satisfy the Phase 3)

9 Assessment of minimum propulsion power
The minimum propulsion power assessment is based on ;
∙ Resolution MEPC.262(68) 2015 interim guidelines for determing minimum propulsion power to maintain
the manoeuvrability of ships in adverse conditions

9.1 Assessment procedure

9.1.1 The assessment can be carried out at two different levels as listed below ;
1) Level 1: Minimum power lines assessment
2) Level 2: Simplified assessment

9.1.2 The ship should be considered to have sufficient power to maintain the manoeuvrability in adverse conditions
if it fulfils one of these assessment levels.
