Momentive Coatings for
Automotive Applications
Momentive Coatings help our customers meet performance and design requirements for a variety
of automotive applications. Our portfolio includes thermal and UV cured hardcoats, anti-fog coatings
and weatherstrip coatings.

SilFORT* Hardcoats enable automobile manufacturers to replace glass and metal with lightweight
plastics for demanding lighting, glazing, exterior trim, sensor cover, interior, and new front module
applications. They improve the durability and performance of plastics, such as polycarbonate and
PMMA, by helping them maintain their color, gloss, light transmission and other physical properties,
while enhancing weatherability, cleanability and resistance to abrasion, chemicals and solvents.

SilFORT TAC2000 anti-fog coating prevents the formation of condensation on the inside of headlamp
lenses, sensor covers and new front modules. Our weatherstrip coatings provide excellent noise
reduction, abrasion resistance and weathering resistance on EPDM rubber profiles for door and roof
frame sealing applications.
