Slide 1 (Teria):

Greetings, everyone! We are the Group 1 of Our lady of Fatima and we’re here to present the
Code of ethics of our business named Cafiend, “The Taste You Can’t Get Enough”

Slide 2 (Teria):
The personnel of our business consist of me, Jethro Paule Teria as the owner or manager,
Princess Canlas, who’s in-charge in the marketing department, Christine Joy Laxamana, the
executive chef who will guide the pastry chefs who are Anjelo Uriel Sarmiento and Louie Andrei
Habana, Mark Jasper Mallari is assigned as the barista, and lastly, Jian Christian Pascual, who
will handle our finance.

Slide 3 (Teria):
In order for Cafiend to attain success, we decided to set the vision, mission, values, and
objectives that will identify the purpose of the business and guide the personnel regarding its
goals. The vision of Cafiend is to become the most pleasurable place in Angeles City for
exceptional coffee beverages that ensures the safety and happiness of the customers as well as
the environment. To achieve this vision, we have a mission to energize coffee lovers with breads
and coffee beverages of healthier quality ingredients and eco-friendly products. For values,
Cafiend aims to achieve customer delight with high quality products, build respectful and caring
atmosphere, profitability improvement, and uphold customer and environmental safety. We
ensure that these values are attainable by having these objectives.
The first objective of Cafiend is to delight customers by offering unforgettable experiences. We
plan to have perfect points in customer feedback in 2022 by serving exceptional breads and
coffee beverages made with healthier ingredients. To attain this, Cafiend will give surveys to
customers and the answers collected will be used to improve the system of the business.
Moreover, 80% of the raw ingredients used in the business will be bought in the markets and
grocery stores in Angeles City. In addition, Cafiend seeks to make use of organic harvest coffee
beans in Mt. Kanlaon, Negros Occidental via ordering online to satisfy customers.

(Laxamana):
Second, our business aims to make a comfortable atmosphere for customers. Cafiend plans to
train employees that can quickly and effectively answer customers’ questions, resolve issues
with sympathy and care, and develop good customer relationship. According to Rafika and
Yulhendri, 2019, store atmosphere will create satisfaction and customers loyalty. When
customers feel what they expect can get, customer loyalty will be created. In addition, the
establishment will make the place aesthetic for the eyes of the customers. Hence, Cafiend seeks
to resolve, enhance, and transform the business atmosphere in a friendly way.
For our third objective, we intend to take a step towards success by increasing our revenue by
5% within the next 12 months through the remarkable products we provide. Our business plan to
promote the business by creating posters in social media. Additionally, we will offer Cafiend
card wherein customers will get rewards if they buy certain number of products. The more
products they buy, the more rewards they will get. Therefore, Cafiend seeks to improve its
profitability in an ethical way.
Lastly, we have an objective to prioritize the safety of customers and the environment through
the products and the business location. Cafiend plans to follow the principles that benefit the
environment, such as using wooden stirrers instead of plastic, using recyclable take-away
containers, or even having a compost pile for organic waste products. Moreover, hygiene will be
prioritized in order to ensure the safety of the customer, especially with the presence of Covid-
19.

Slide 4 (Pascual):
For the impact of our business in the society and environment. We will surely offer jobs so that
the operation will go smoothly. By doing that, we can decrease the number of unemployment
rate in our country.
Our business can also energize customers by the bread and coffees that we provide. In that way,
our customers will have more energy to do their jobs and contribute to the betterment of our
society.
Furthermore, we follow principles that benefit the environment, like using wooden stirrers
instead of plastic, using recyclable take-away containers, or even having a compost pile for
organic waste products. By doing that, we can contribute to the improvement of our environment
and be an example to other businesses.
Lastly, we will prioritize hygiene in order to ensure the safety of the customers, especially with
the presence of Covid-19 wherein cleanliness must be given more attention.

Slide 5 (Teria):
Now, we will tackle the Code of Ethics of Cafiend or the set of rules that all personnel will
follow in order to achieve success.

Slide 6 (Teria):
For Guiding Principles, Cafiend adheres to attain growth and success as the most pleasurable
place in Angeles City for exceptional coffee beverages. Not only because of the taste of our
products, but also to our service and security when it comes to the safety and happiness of the
customers as well as the environment. Our business guarantees to fulfill and maintain its core
values mentioned earlier which are achieving customer delight with high quality products,
building respectful and caring atmosphere, profitability improvement, and upholding customer
and environmental safety because these are the ways that will help us succeed. Moreover, it
guarantees that all interactions are treated with respect regardless of position and circumstances
in order to avoid discrimination and trouble that will hinder the success of the business.

Slide 7 (Sarmiento):
For the Health and Safety of all the personnel, first, Cafiend follows health and safety protocols,
such as social distancing, wearing of face mask, and disinfecting the tables and chairs all the
time. Because in that way, we can avoid the spread of the COVID-19 Virus and make everyone
feel safe when they come to our business. Alse, we can create a pleasing, productive
environment to customers as well as the personnel themselves since clean surroundings can help
us concentrate on our jobs more.
We also get physical examinations annually to ensure that all of the personnel are fit to work,
and they have the ability to use their full potential because that will help them contribute to the
success of the business a lot better.
Third, we require all employees to check raw ingredients regularly to eliminate the risk of
contamination and avoid complaints from customers that will destroy our value to consumers.
Additionally, we store and cook them properly so that the business can continuously provide
fresh and high-quality goods.

Slide 8 (Habana):
Continuing to our management system, we are required to manage all the information that
supports the needs of the business with efficiency, security, and compliance with legal or
regulatory requirements as mandated by the government because that will verify that the
operation of the business is legal and ethical. Moreover, that can help us increase our customer
value since the consumers will know that we adhere to the law and that will let them know that
our business is safe.

Aside from that, we ensure that all the transactions of the business are recorded and maintained
accurately, thoroughly, and safely because that will monitor the progress of the business towards
success. Also, that will prevent mistakes and misplacement of information that can cause a loss
in the business.

Slide 9 (Laxamana):
We are now into the Labor and Human Rights. For this code of ethics, we are obliged to give
proper and fair wages to all personnel based on their reported workload and working hours so
that we can help them provide their needs and motivate them to contribute to the success of the
business.
Additionally, we must respect the personnel’s right to refuse work, especially when their work
may result to harm. This is compliant to the Section 6 of Republic Act No. 11058 as it states,
“The worker has the right of refusal to work without threat or reprisal from the employer if, as
determined by the DOLE, an imminent danger situation exists in the workplace that may result in
illness, injury or death, and corrective actions to eliminate the danger have not been undertaken
by the employer.”
Furthermore, we should provide equal opportunity to all personnel regarding salary increase.
Specifically, the company will ensure that 10% salary increase will be done based on the
personnel’s performance. If an employee does well, as reported by his/ her manager, 10%
increase of salary will be given to him/her. This will verify that the organization promotes
protection against discrimination in the workplace.

Slide 10 (Canlas):
Next is the Ethical Business Practice. In order to guarantee this code of ethics, we ensure to hold
regular working hours from 1:00pm to 9:00pm, with a mealtime of 1 hour, from 6:00pm to
7:00pm. This is to make certain that the organization is operating ethically and complying with
Article 83 of the Labor Code of the Philippines which implies that the normal hours of work of
any employee shall not exceed eight (8) hours a day.

In addition, we value the personal dignity and differences of everyone by providing equal,
satisfactory treatment to all customers and personnel in the business, like answering all concerns
with care and patience and not tolerating any disadvantageous acts such as violence so that we
can build a respectable and caring atmosphere.

Slide 11 (Mallari):
For the last code of ethics, we have raising concerns. In this section, we allow all personnel to
express their opinion or concerns regarding the operation of the business without any punishment
as the Article 279, Book 4 of the Labor Code of the Philippines indicates, “In cases of regular
employment, the employer shall not terminate the services of an employee except for a just cause
or when authorized by this Title. An employee who is unjustly dismissed from work shall be
entitled to reinstatement without loss of seniority rights and other privileges and to his full
backwages, inclusive of allowances, and to his other benefits or their monetary equivalent
computed from the time his compensation was withheld from him up to the time of his actual
reinstatement.” This is conducted to secure that the right of the employees to speak freely is
protected in the company and to let the personnel know that the business is always open for
improvement.

Additionally, we allow stakeholders to express their concerns in the business through surveys.
After the answers are collected, the manager will handle all the concerns by communicating
them to all the personnel and actively change the operation according to them. This is done so
that we can make certain that the recommendations and reports of stakeholders are reviewed for
the betterment of the business.

Slide 12 (Laxamana):
This concludes our presentation for the Code of Ethics of our business, Cafiend, “The Taste You
Can’t Get Enough.” Thank you for listening! Once again, this has been the Group 1 of Our Lady
of Fatima. Have a nice day!
