FIRST EVER INTERNATIONAL FEAST OF TABERNACLES
KILGORIS, KENYA, AFRICA
by Robert Onsando
Finally, Feast of Tabernacles 2024 had arrived in Kilgoris, Kenya. It was time to put into
action the teachings and experience learned in 2023 from the Hot Springs, Arkansas, Feast
of Tabernacles, courtesy of Blake Silverstein and Linda Benton from Christian Educational
Ministries (CEM). Preparations for the Feast of Tabernacles 2024 in Kenya started at high
gear, with major activities identified in advance, which included Sermons, Seminars, Safari
(a game drive through the Masai Mara reserve), making friends, learning other people’s
cultures, appreciating God’s creation and diversity.
Guests started arriving three weeks early, with the very first group of 11 coming from
the United States of America accompanied by the founder and administrator of Tabitha
Outreach Foundation Academy, Dianne Webb. This is a school that has grown for the last
three years to become well-known, with best performing students both in academics and
morals. This first group came to install at least 30 computers in the school and fast-running
internet. This school (popularly known as TOFA) has 106 students from Form One to Form
Four. Our first final year student class of 33 has just finished their national examinations,
and are awaiting the results before the year ends. 80% of the students are either very needy,
partial orphans, or are total orphans.
This first group of guests had an opportunity to visit widows and guardians who have
sent their kids to our school. This made the team appreciate the support and work TOFA
is doing in this part of the world. These women are really needy and deserve support
themselves.
Coming back to the Feast of Tabernacles, attendance was wonderful, with 20 participants
from the US, 21 from Tanzania, and one from Malawi (we expected one from Uganda but
who could not make it). A wonderful team from Nairobi supported the Feast in many ways.
A special choir from Tanzania made the whole Feast enjoyable, and people’s testimonies
really touched many. A total of 26 were baptized—a week before the Feast, at the TOFA
school, 14 students gave their souls to Jesus; during the Feast at least 12 (including two
former SDA pastors: one from Malawi and the other from Tanzania, and one pastor’s wife)
were baptized, as well.
Finally, it was climaxed with the graduation of 52 Christian Bible School students,
among them 6 ladies who went through the training successfully. We look forward to the
2025 Feast of Tabernacles to be held in Tanzania, and you are all welcome to join us. We
thank God for all that happened.

The 2024 Plan
Reading, Writing, and Responding
We are looking forward to another year reading and writing God’s Word. We did not
make it to Job in 2024 and there have been some errors. We apologize for the mistakes,
and if you need corrected information feel free to call the office. Let’s enjoy reading
the daily assignment, handwriting the assigned scriptures, and then responding to
those verses with prayer, meditation, contemplation, and application in your own life.
