xii. Development of the strategic direction for the Regional Referral Hospitals
followed by the Regional Referral Hospitals implementation Guideline.
xiii. Establishment of the NBTS satellite sites in Dar es salaam whereby 7 new
sites were established (approved). A shared effort between the ministry of
health and the regional health administration.
xiv. In collaboration with the PORALG, conducted a need assessment for
improved health services at the primary health care level, (November-
December, 2016) followed by an approved plan for construction and
rehabilitation of about 350 facilities using force account.

i. Improved availability of medicines and health financing systems in District
Council was recognized nationally and awarded by Hon Dr Hussein Mwinyi,
Minister of Health and Social Welfare, 2012 and by the World Health
Organization (WHO) and Health Insurance Award 2012.
ii. National sanitation campaign winner and award given by Dr. Gharib Bilali, Samia
Suluhu Hassan (Minister in the vice president), Kassim Majaliwa (PM)
iii. Improved maternal and child health specific programs (FANC naBEmONC) in
Njombe Region was awarded by the Vice President His Excellence Ghalib Bilali
(April, 2014)
iv. National Award on IPC&IS April, 2014 Njombe Regional Referral Hospital.
