This guide walks you through all the benefits available to your company because you achieved a
Specialization in the AWS Service Delivery, Service Ready, Competency, and Managed Service Provider
(MSP) Partners.
Use this benefit guide to learn what core program benefits you get, and which signature benefits
are unlocked by each Specialization.
There are multiple ways to quickly find what you are looking for in this guide:
1. Use the Table of Contents on page 3 (or click the button in the menu bar).
2. Use the menu bar at top to quickly access the Core and Signature Benefits.

Financial Incentives
Unlock additional funding, credits, and discounts
based on your Specialization.
Marketing Development Funds (MDF) supports partner brand awareness,
services, and solutions built on AWS by co-investing 50 percent of the actual
costs for eligible marketing activities.
MDF Cash awards:
• $5,000 USD for every Service Delivery or Service Ready.
• $10,000 USD for every Competency or Managed Service Provider (MSP).
There is no cap on the number of Specializations that are awarded MDF Cash.
Submit your marketing plan
Submit your eligible marketing activity plans as early in the year as possible and reserve your funds.
Work with your Partner Marketing Manager to submit by the key dates in the MDF Guide, in order to
keep the funds in your wallet.
TAKE ACTION
1. Set up a Payee Central account in APN Partner Central if you haven't already.
2. Review a list of MDF-eligible activities in the MDF Overview Guide.
3. Submit MDF-eligible activity in the APN Funding Tool at least two weeks before the activity
start date. Submit all fund claims following the key dates in the MDF Overview Guide.
4. Request a Partner Marketing support through the Marketing Concierge.
5. If you miss the key dates, your funds will be removed from your wallet. If this happens,
you may work with your Partner Development contact or Partner Marketing Manager to
request to create a plan and request funds be reloaded.

How MDF is delivered:
• Specializations achieved the year before: MDF Cash is loaded into your Payee Central wallet at
the beginning of the calendar year if you have invoiced 50% or more of your MDF Cash the prior year.
If you did not receive funds, request them through your Partner Marketing Manager. Include a detailed
marketing plan and have a Payee Central account set up.
• New Specializations load the first full week of the month following your Specialization attainment.
For example, if AWS confirms your Specialization in March, your wallet is loaded in April.
• MDF & Strategic Collaboration Agreements (SCAs): Partners with Specializations and SCAs have total
MDF packages that take into consideration how much they would get from Specialization and provide
a larger total MDF sum through the SCA.
Any receipt of funding, including AWS Promotional Credits, is subject to the AWS Partner Network Terms and Conditions
and the AWS Promotional Credit Terms and Conditions, and either may be updated by AWS throughout the year. Dollar
values assigned to benefits represent dollar value equivalents solely to define the scope of the available benefit. AWS
Promotional Credits are not redeemable or exchangeable for cash under any circumstances.
$10,000 USD in AWS Promotional Credits
Achieving a Specialization unlocks access to request up to $10,000 USD in AWS
Promotional Credits each year.
These credits allow you to offset the costs incurred if you request the credits in advance
of conducting MDF-eligible activities. For a complete list of MDF-eligible activities, review
the MDF Overview Guide in Partner Central.
You may request the credits in other increments up to $10,000 (for example, five $2,000 requests)
to pass on the value to customers or run multiple events.
Pro Tip: Customer event example: You are hosting an event and must demonstrate how
your offering or solution works. The incurred AWS billed usage can be offset with these credits.
Submit a credit request in the AWS Partner Network Funding Tool prior to the event start date.

4% Technical Capability Discount
You are eligible to get a 4 percent additional Technical Capability Discount after earning
a Services Path AWS Competency or MSP Specialization if you also have Program
Accounts with Authorized Services in the Solution Provider or Distributor Program:
Solution Provider Program (SPP): Designed for systems integrators, MSPs, value
added resellers, and public sector partners to resell AWS services to end customers as
part of their differentiated solution. You must be enrolled in SPP and on the Services Path. Learn more
about SPP and download the SPP Program Guide from Partner Central (1. Resale Discounts, section (a)
Standard Discount > Technical Capability Discount).
Distributor Program: Enables AWS Partners to grow revenue opportunities by reselling AWS products
and solutions. You must be participating as a Distribution Seller through an Authorized AWS
Distributor. Learn more about the AWS Distribution Program by reaching out to your AWS Distributor
and download the Distribution Guide from Partner Central.
There are additional requirements for each program that must be met to receive the discount. Please
review the guides linked above for the program you are interested in. Public Sector Partners have
additional terms if you resell Program Accounts to Public Sector End Customers.
How the discount is applied: AWS backdates the discount to the first of the month when you fulfill
requirements. For example, if you meet the requirements on May 24, AWS backdates your discount to
May 1. AWS pays the Technical Capability Discount on the invoice along with the Base Discount. Discounts
are applicable on end-user accounts only for revenue driven through the SPP or Distributor Program and
are not applicable on internal use accounts.
TAKE ACTION
1. Enroll in SPP or Distributor Program:
a. Enroll in SPP on the Services Path so your account is authorized for the AWS Solution
Provider Program (SPP)
OR
b. Participate as a Distribution Seller through an Authorized AWS Distributor
2. Meet the additional program criteria outlined in the SPP or Distributor Program Guides
linked above.
3. For SPP, partners must execute End User Reporting, see the SPP EUR Guide or Distribution
End User Reporting Guide in Partner Central.
4. Get the Technical Capability Discount (4%) applied the month when the requirements
are fulfilled on revenue driven through the SPP or Distributor Program. You will see the
discount on your Summary Bill and the Discount codes under the “Usage Detail.”

Specialized Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) funding
The MAP Partner Funding Program is designed to support AWS Partners with
migrations or modernizations of any size or workload to AWS, at each phase of the
customer’s migration journey.
Partners who hold the AWS Migrations Competency are eligible for MAP benefits for all
the listed specialized workloads listed in the APN Funding Benefits Guide. Partners who do not hold the
AWS Migrations Competency are eligible for MAP Assess, Mobilize, and/or Migrate
& Modernize benefits for migration projects scoped predominately to the specialized workloads listed,
only if they hold at least one of the Specializations.
There are 27 Specializations available that unlock specific workloads such as Amazon Redshift
Delivery unlocks deliver workloads and the AWS Migration Competency unlocks migration workloads.

MAP for Managed Service Provider (MSP)
AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) for MSP provides incentives and means to develop smaller
customers into larger AWS MAP deals.
Eligibility: Partners must have both the MSP Specialization and the Migration Competency. Individual
end-customers must be <$100K ARR. Post migration, the partner must own all accounts (SPAM/DAM
Model). All base MAP eligibility rules, and SPI eligibility rules apply
Partners please refer to the MSP Program Guide and the MAP Guide.
MAP for Database & Analytics (Non-Commercial Sources)
Database & Analytics (DB&A Non-Commercial Sources) - During the Migrate & Modernize phase,
AWS will fund an additional 10 percent of on the eligible DB&A service portion of the post-migration
ARR in partner cash or in MAP credits if the workload is migrated from a non-AWS source other than
a DB&A Commercial Source to a DB&A service. DB&A Commercial Sources are database engines, data
warehouses, or analytics offerings identified as a DB&A Commercial Source on the included services list,
as such list may be updated from time to time. DB&A eligible services are the AWS services identified
as Database & Analytics services on the included services list. Additionally, if you migrate workloads
from Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) (other than workloads from a Database (DB) Freedom
source running on Amazon EC2) to DB&A services (including workloads that originate on AWS) during
the migration period, your spend on such properly tagged DB&A services will be included in spend
calculations for purposes of the DB&A Formula. The AWS Partner must provide AWS with a calculation
of the expected DB&A post-migration ARR during the funding approval process.
MAP for Database & Analytics (Commercial Sources)
Database & Analytics (Commercial Sources) - During the Migrate & Modernize phase, AWS will fund
an additional 25 percent of on the eligible DB&A service portion of the post-migration ARR in partner
cash or in MAP credits if the workload is moved from a DB&A Commercial Source. DB&A Commercial
Sources are database engines, data warehouses, or analytics offerings identified as a DB&A Commercial
Source on the included services list, as such list may be updated from time to time. Eligible DB&A services
are the AWS services identified as Database & Analytics services on the included services list. The funding
approval process. Additionally, if you migrate workloads from a DB&A Commercial Source running on

Amazon EC2 to a DB&A Service (including workloads that originate on AWS) during the
migration period, your spend on such properly tagged DB&A Services will be included
in spend calculations for purposes of the DB Freedom Formula. The AWS Partner must
provide AWS with a calculation of the expected DB&A post-migration ARR during the
funding approval process.

Specialized Workloads Incentives
The below incentives are available during the Migrate & Modernize Phase to eligible AWS Partners for
qualifying Specialized Workload deals.
MAP for Windows
During the Migrate & Modernize Phase, AWS will fund an additional 5 percent of the net new Windows
post migration ARR for Windows workloads migrated in the Migrate & Modernize Phase. Windows eligible
spend is inclusive of:
1. MAP Workloads on Amazon EC2 for Windows Server or SQL Server on Windows license-included
instances and their attached Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes
2. MAP Workloads that originated on Microsoft Windows Server(s) prior to migration to AWS
To be eligible for this incentive, an Optimization and Licensing Assessment must be completed prior to
the start of the Migrate & Modernize Phase. The AWS Partner must provide AWS with a calculation of the
expected Windows post-migration ARR during the funding pre-approval process. The MAP for Windows
incentive is available to AWS Services Path Partners who have achieved either the AWS Migration
Competency, Microsoft Competency, or Amazon EC2 for Windows Server workload competency.
MAP for SAP
During the Migrate & Modernize phase, AWS will fund an additional 50 percent of eligible, incremental
MAP for Systems Applications and Products (SAP) Migration ARR in partner cash or MAP Credits. Eligible
SAP workloads are SAP On Premise software packages that are operated in customer, solution provider,
or distributor-owned accounts on AWS (not SAP, software as a service [SaaS] or managed solutions like
NS2, RISE with SAP, SAP HEC, Concur, or Success Factors which operate in SAP-owned accounts). A cost
estimate for AWS workload services for the migrating SAP workloads must be provided to AWS during
the funding approval process. Incremental SAP workload partner cash funding is only offered for partners
who have SAP Competency.
Credits can be offered Direct to Customer or through AWS Solution Provider or Distribution partners.
MAP for SAP deals will not be eligible for other specialized workload incentives, as they are standalone
terms. For Large MAP Migrations, there must be a minimum of $500K in spend from SAP-eligible
workloads to qualify for the MAP Migrate & Modernize 25% + 50% incentive (SAP spend <$500K ARR
will still qualify for MAP Lite 15% + 50% for SAP ARR).

MAP for Oracle Applications
During the Migrate & Modernize phase, AWS may fund an additional 50 percent of eligible, incremental
MAP for Oracle Applications Migration ARR in partner cash or AWS service credits. Eligible Oracle
Applications include Oracle Applications running on premise, or one migrated from other cloud providers
other than AWS. Oracle Business Application software (for example, Peoplesoft, JDEdwards, Oracle
E-Business Suite, and Hyperion) that will be operated in customer, solution provider, or distributor-owned
accounts on AWS. Incremental Oracle Application partner cash is only offered for AWS Service Path
Partners who have Migration Competency.
Credits can be offered direct to the customer or through Solution Provider or Distribution partners. A cost
estimate for AWS workload services for the migrating Oracle Applications workloads must be provided to
AWS during the funding approval process. MAP for Oracle Applications deals will not be eligible for other
specialized workload incentives. For Large MAP Migrations, there must be a minimum of $500K in spend
from Oracle Applications workloads to qualify for the MAP Migrate & Modernize 25% + 50% incentive
(Oracle Application spend <$500K ARR will still qualify for MAP Lite 15% + 50% for Oracle Apps ARR).
MAP for Amazon Connect
During the Migrate & Modernize phase, AWS will fund an additional 25 percent on net new eligible
Amazon Connect post-migration ARR for Connect contact center workloads migrated in year one. To
be eligible for this incentive, the migration ARR for Connect must achieve a run rate of $500K within 12
months of the migration start date. Eligible Connect spend includes spend on: Connect, Telephony, Voice,
Chat, Tasks, Outbound Campaigns, Contact Lens, Customer Profiles, Voice ID, Cases, Forecasting, capacity
planning, and scheduling, Screen recording, SMS, Q in Connect. The incremental MAP for Connect
Incentive is available for AWS Service Path Partners who have achieved the Amazon Connect Service
Delivery Specialization. This incentive is available for Large Migrations (>=$500K only), and cannot be
requested for MAP Lite Migrations. Note that tagging is not a requirement for MAP for Connect.
TAKE ACTION
1. Achieve one of the AWS Service Delivery or Competency Specializations that unlocks
Specialized MAP funding. See a complete list of eligible Specializations and more details
on MAP funding in the APN Funding Benefits Guide.
2. To get started with MAP, you must submit or accept the potential MAP opportunity in
APN Customer Engagements (ACE) Partner Central, and then tag the opportunity with
the “Migration Acceleration Program” campaign tag.
3. After the opportunity has been qualified by AWS, you can then submit a request for funding
using the AWS Partner Funding Portal.
4. AWS will review each funding request and approve if the applicable requirements are met. Any
MAP benefits must be requested and approved by AWS prior to starting the applicable activity.

1. Access the APN Badge Manager in Partner Central via Market tab > Badge Manager.
2. Create a customized partner badge using APN Badge Manager in Partner Central.
For guidance on when and how to use the badges, please refer to the AWS Partner
Creative and Messaging Guide starting from page 8.
3. Display the badge on your event booth, website, and collateral to promote your
AWS expertise.

Priority listing in AWS search tools
Achieving Specializations boosts your company’s priority
ranking in related results in our AWS search tools. Your offering
becomes easier to find through filters and featured sections
reserved for validated partners.
You listing is improved in AWS Partner Solutions Finder (PSF)
for customers and in a similar tool for our sales team. In both
tools, your company stand out through the Specializations you
have achieved. Customers and sales team members can read about your achievements, case studies,
and service locations—and submit a contact form to connect with your team directly.
No action is required to receive this benefit. Follow the Take Action steps if you want to update
your partner listing.
TAKE ACTION
Follow these steps only if you want to update your partner listing.
1. Access your Partner Solutions Finder Listing in Partner Central.
2. Review and optimize your content for search following AWS PSF Guide best practices.
3. Reference the PSF Guide to dive deeper into any other PSF questions such as how to update
your information, or how to maintain compliance so your listing remains visible to customers.
APN Blog Company or Software listing
The APN Blog is one of the most-read blogs at AWS, so it
provides you with increased visibility.
The New Partners APN Blog Post is published the month
following your Specialization achievement. You will be listed
for every Specialization you achieve.
Your listing is automatically created upon your Specialization
achievement. You do not need to take any action to be listed
on the blog post.
TAKE ACTION
Follow these steps only if you want to further promote your achievements with customers.
1. Have your marketing team share the blog post featuring your Specialization achievements
on you company social media accounts such as LinkedIn and Twitter.

You can include resources such as slide decks, whitepapers, and solution briefs

If you are in ACE, you can gate your video as a form of lead generation.
APN Blog: We encourage you to submit technical content showcasing how customers
win because we are “better together” with your specialized offering on AWS.
Why write for the APN Blog? Credibility, visibility, and connections through one of the

Things to know about submitting content to the blog:
Your specialized expertise demonstrated through your Specializations gives your
content priority consideration.
Partners are limited to three APN Blog posts per year. AWS co-authors are required.

Partner Immersion Days
Partner Immersion Days offers you access to content and tools developed by AWS Solutions Architects
and packages it for you to use exclusively with customers. Included in this package is a full suite of event
management resources, including presentations, hands-on labs, and other assets that are custom built
and address key customer questions. Immersion Days are partner-led engagements where you provide
customers with hands-on experience using AWS services to help accelerate customer opportunities.
TAKE ACTION
1. Watch the two Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions available through the Immersion Days channel on

In order to make the most of these expert engagements, take action to connect directly with the
expert team listed for the signature benefits you want to leverage. These are unlocked based on the
Specializations your company has achieved. If you are not sure which Specializations your company holds,
see page 23.
There are three primary types of signature benefits: Private Strategy Sessions, AWS Guest Speaker
Support, and Guided Co-Selling Series. You can read about them below. Select Specializations offer
custom benefits which are explained in the last part of the guide.

If your Specialization offers this signature benefit, you get a session designed for organizations seeking
guidance on their AWS offering strategy, whether it’s related to business, Go-to-Market (GTM), or
technical strategies. It provides direct engagement with AWS experts tailored to your organization’s
objectives, conducted in a private, one-on-one format. You’re encouraged to invite relevant business
leaders and sales representatives to fully utilize this opportunity. Private strategy sessions offer dedicated
time and support from AWS experts to address specific business needs such as customer acquisitions,
technical strategy, GTM strategy, or optimizing offerings and messaging for prospective customers.

AWS Guest Speaker Support
If your Specialization offers this signature benefit, you get to engage AWS business or technical experts
as part of your virtual customer events. Collaborate with the specialist team aligned to your Specialization
to prepare and promote your offering to generate leads and highlight your customer success stories.
You can schedule one partner-led customer event per Specialization, per year. You should focus the
event on one Specialization at a time. You must hold the Specialization to request specialist support.
For example, only CloudFront Delivery and Ready Partners can request a CloudFront specialist.
This benefit was previously advertised as “Partner Led Customer Event Support.”

1. Have your marketing team set up a registration page on your preferred platform.
2. Include the Registration Privacy Policy: Be sure to include language on the event registration form
for your session clarifying registrant contact information will be shared with AWS:
• Yes, the AWS Partner may provide my contact information to Amazon Web Services (AWS) so AWS
can share the latest AWS news and offers with me by email, post, or phone. You may unsubscribe
from receiving news and offers from AWS at any time by following the instructions in the

3. Confirm your session date and topic with your AWS account team.
Request Your AWS specialist support (at least four weeks before the event)
We will collaborate with you to prepare the virtual presentation and provide a speaker. Let us know
what type of presentation and support you need, such as validation of architecture or a joint customer

Email the specialist team related to your event at least four weeks before the event with the
registration URL to coordinate a speaker.
Market to customers
Work with your marketing team to send email invitations to attendees at least two weeks in advance.
Our specialist team will help promote your webinar internally and externally to drive attendance.
Submit leads after the event
After the event is complete, enter your webinar leads into the AWS Customer Engagements (ACE)

Host an AWS-supported Control Tower Activation or Transition Day
Our team will support up to one co-branded event per year targeting customers who are interested in
activating a production-ready Control Tower environment. These events target the technical teams such
as DevOps engineers and architects at your customer companies.
TAKE ACTION
1. Shadow an event to learn how to host:
• Events are offered twice per month, worldwide.
• Email aws-partner-ct@[Link] to get your team set up to shadow an event.
2. Choose which event you want to run with customers:
• Option A: AWS Control Tower Activation Day: During the activation day, your
team will lead customers in their first-time setup of Control Tower. Activation days
are for new, existing, and enterprise customers that need help setting up a landing
zone for the first time. Activation Days typically take eight hours.
• Option B: AWS Landing Zone solution (ALZ) Transition Day: During the transition
day, your team will help customers transition from their existing landing zones to
AWS Control Tower. Transition Day is designed for customers who have a custom

3. Plan ahead and market your event:
• Work with your marketing team and technical teams to select a date for your event.

• Your marketing team can then start to build an email campaign and promote your
event on your web page and social media.
• The AWS Control Tower team will help promote your event internally and externally

4. Submit qualified opportunities: Follow up with your event attendees and enter

Host an AWS-supported Control Tower Activation or Transition Day
Our team will support up to one co-branded event per year targeting customers who are interested
in activating a production-ready Control Tower environment.
These events target the technical teams such as DevOps engineers and architects at your customer
companies.
TAKE ACTION
1. Shadow an event to learn how to host:
• Events are offered twice per month, worldwide.
• Email aws-partner-ct@[Link] to get your team set up to shadow an event.
2. Choose which event you want to run with customers:
• Option A: AWS Control Tower Activation Day: During the activation day, your team
will lead customers in their first-time setup of Control Tower. Activation days are for
new, existing, and enterprise customers that need help setting up a landing zone for
the first time. Activation Days typically take eight hours.
• Option B: AWS Landing Zone solution (ALZ) Transition Day: During the transition
day, your team will help customers transition from their existing landing zones to
AWS Control Tower. Transition Day is designed for customers who have a custom
landing zone or a legacy ALZ to transition to Control Tower. Transition Days typically
take 6–8 hours.
3. Plan ahead and market your event:
• Work with your marketing team and technical teams to select a date for your event.

By achieving this Specialization, you are invited to participate in the AWS-funded SMB Campaign.
This benefit drives an SMB-targeted audience to a webpage dedicated to promoting your solution
and selected assets to generate new business.
This new customer base will tap into a global business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer
(B2C) database from a third party, and leverage intent data, firmographic, demographic data, and your
own lists, if desired.
To participate, your team will need to provide three assets, at least one of which must be cobranded with
AWS. Asset examples include: eBooks, solution briefs, videos, whitepaper, infographics, and thought
leadership blog posts.
Existing or new assets can be leveraged and must adhere to the AWS Messaging and Branding Guidelines
in the AWS Marketing Tool Kit in Marketing Central.
