Data Collection Methods & Definition

Data Collection: is a systematic approach to accurately


collect information from various sources to provide answers,
the main purpose of data collection is to gather quality
information that can be analysed and used to support
decisions or provide evidence.

1.Surveys: collect data from the target audiences.

2.Polls: They are useful when you need to get audience’s


sentiments quick. Because they are short

3.Interviews: In face-to-face interviews, the interviewer asks


a series of questions to the interviewee in person and notes
down responses. If it is not feasible to meet the person, the
interviewer can go for a telephone interview.

4.Focus Groups: In a focus group, a small group of people,


around 8-10 members, discuss the common areas of the
research problem.

5.Secondary data is data that has been used in the past. The
researcher can obtain data from the data sources.
