At The Grave Side

1.HYMN-Abide with me

1.Abide with me: fast falls the eventide;

The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless; O abide with me.

2. Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;

Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away.
Change and decay in all around I see.
O Lord who changes not, abide with me.

3.I need your presence every passing hour.

What but your grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who,like yourself my guide and stay can be?
Though cloud and sunshine, O abide with me.

4.I fear no foe with you at hand to bless,

Though ills have weight, and tears their bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, your victory?
I triumph still, if you abide with me.

5.Hold now your Word before my closing eyes.

Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks and earth's vain shadows flee;
in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

2. WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
ADMONITION:
I am the Resurrection and the Life, saith the Lord. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall
he live and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die (John 11:25-26). I know that my
Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth and though after my skin worms
destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself and mine eyes shall behold
and not another. Job 19:25-27.

For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out. The Lord gave and che Lord
hath taken away. Blessed is the name of the Lord. 1 Timothy 6:7; Job 1:21.

Man that is born of a woman hath but a short time to live and is full of misery. He cometh up and is cut
down, like a flower, he fleeth as it were shadow, and never continueth. In the midst of life we are in death,
of whom may we seek for succour but of thee O Lord, who for our sins is justly displeased? Yet, O Lord God
most holy, O Lord most mighty, O holyand merciful Saviour, deliver us not into the bitter pains of eternal
death and damnation.

Thou knowest, Lord, the secrets of our hearts, shut not thy merciful ears to our prayers, but spare us, Oh!
Holy and merciful Saviour. Thou most worthy Judge eternal, do not suffer us to depart from thee and
thereby suffer eternally, through Jesus Christ thy Holy Son. Amen.

3. INTERMENT AND COMMITTAL

The corpse is lowered into the grave.

For as much as it hath pleased the Almighty God of His great mercy to take unto Himself the soul of our
dearly beloved Brother here departed, we therefore commit his body to the ground, (earth to be cast upon
the body by the closest kin) earth to earth, dust to dust, ashes to ashes, in sure and certain hope of
resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall change our vile bodies, that they may be
like unto His glorious body according to the mighty working, whereby he is able to subdue all things to
Himself. Amen.

In sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life, through our Lord Jesus Christ; who shall change
our vile body that it may be like unto His glorious body according to the mighty working, whereby He is able
to subdue all things to Himself. Dear Beloved, sleep on and rest in the bosom of your Lord whom you served
here on earth, till we shall see again on that glorious day. Goodnight.(The Grave is closed).

4.PRAYER
Almighty God, with whom do live the spirits of them that depart hence in the Lord and with whom the souls
of the faithful, after they are delivered from the burden of the flesh are in joy and felicity;we give thee hearty
thanks for it hath pleased thee to deliver this our beloved brother ELDER JOSEPH ADEWUNMI FAROGBON
out of the mysteries of this sinful world; we beseech thee, that it may please thee of thy gracious goodness,
shortly hasten thy kingdom; that we, with all those that are departed in the true faith of thy holy name, may
have our perfect consummation and bliss, both in body and soul, in thy eternal and everlasting glory through
Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen.
6. HYMN- SLEEP ON BELOVED

1.Sleep on, beloved, sleep and take thy rest Lay

down thy head upon thy Saviour's breast:We
love thee well;but Jesus loves thee best Good-
night! Good-night! Good-night!

2. Calm is thy slumber as an infant's sleep But

thou shalt wake no more to toil and weep Thine
is a perfect rest, secure and deep Good-night!
Good-night! Good-night!

3. Until the shadows from this earth are cast

Until He gathers in His sheaves at last Until the
twilight gloomm is over-past,Good-night!
Good-night! Good-night!

4. Until the Easter glory lights the skies

Until the dead in Jesus shall arise,And He
shall come, but not in lowly guise Good-
night! Good-night! Good-night!

5. Until we meet again before His

throne,Clothed in the spotless robe He gives His
own,Until we know even as we are known
Good-night! Good-night! Good-night!
