1. I come to the Cross like a small boat
Sailing across the reef, 141
And the calm of my Christ is waiting 1. If we eat of the Lord
Behind the waves of grief. And we drink of the Lord,
Coming home, Jesus, coming home! Like the Lord we shall all be.
Not going to sail no more, Then we live with his life,
And we share in his love,
Coming home, Lord, into heaven.
And his truth shall make us free.
Sailing to the promised shore.
2. The Lord tells us his plans,
2. I come to the Cross like a sea-stone Listen to his commands,
Wet in the Saviour's hand; "To the Father come through me.
He will polish me for His glory, Share this banquet of love,
Safe in the promised land. Eat my flesh, drink my blood
Coming home, Jesus coming home! Do this in my memory."
Not going to drown no more; 3. "This command," says the Lord,
Coming home, Lord, into heaven. "I give specially to you,
Home and dry on the shore. Love each one as I love you.
By this sign all will know
3. I come to the cross like a river What I have to bestow.
Folding down to the sea; Through this love, man I renew."
And the tide of love washes red-red
Down from the cross to me. 4. "From this banquet of life
Coming home, Jesus coming home! Bring my love to the world,
Not running down no more; Be a sign for all to see
Coming home, Lord, into heaven, That I bring you my peace
Singing on the promised shore. Through the breaking of bread
That I come to make you free."

Our hope for years to come,
1. O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And ransom captive Israel,
And our eternal home.
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.

Thy Saints have dwelt secure;
Chorus:
Sufficient is Thine Arm alone,
Rejoice, Rejoice, Emmanuel
And our defence is sure.

Or earth received her frame,
2. O come, of all the nations, King
From everlasting Thou art God,
The World awaits thy ransoming
To endless years the same.
Remove our hate and faithlessness

Are like an evening gone; Let them come to the Lord;
Short as the watch that ends the night All who labour, without rest,
Before the rising sun. How can your soul find rest
Except for the Lord?
5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away; 4. And let all the poor,
They fly forgotten, as a dream Let them come to the water.
Dies at the opening day. Bring the ones who are laden,
Bring them all to the Lord;
6. O God, our help in ages past, Bring the children without might,
Our hope for years to come, Easy the load and light
Be Thou our guard while Come to the Lord.

1. O let all who thirst,
Let them come to the water.
And let all who have nothing, 241
Let them come to the Lord; 1. O little town of Bethlehem,
Without money, without price, How still we see thee lie,
Why should you spend your life Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
Except for the Lord? The silent stars go by:
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
2. And let all who seek, The everlasting light;
Let them come to the water. The hopes and fears of all the years
And let all who have nothing Are met in thee tonight.
Let them come to the Lord;
Without money, without strife,
Why should you spend your life
Except for the Lord? 2. For Christ is born of Mary;
And gathered all above,
3. And let all who toil, While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Let them come to the water. Their watch of wond'ring love.
O morning stars together, He bled and died to take away my sin.
Proclaim the holy birth,
And praises sing to God the King, 3. When Christ shall come, with shouts of acclamation,
And peace to all on earth. And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then shall I bow in humble adoration,
3. How silently, how silently, And there proclaim, my God,
The wond'rous gift is giv'n. How great thou art!
So God imparts to human hearts,
The blessings of His heav'n. 1953 S.K. Hine.
