Project Work
Abstract
This report details my 21-day internship at Jeevandeep Trust, an NGO dedicated to
supporting disabled students. The internship is an essential part of my college curriculum,
providing hands-on experience in community service. Jeevandeep Trust operates from 11:00
AM to 5:00 PM, offering basic education, music classes, physiotherapy, and daily meals to its
students. My responsibilities included assisting in teaching, aiding physiotherapy sessions,
promoting the NGO on social media, and serving meals. Each week of the internship
involved different tasks and responsibilities, progressively increasing my involvement and
contribution to the NGO. This experience has significantly enhanced my understanding of
community service and reinforced my commitment to contributing positively to society.

Week 1 :-
During the first week of my internship at Jeevandeep Trust, I familiarized myself with the
operations of the NGO, which focuses on helping disabled students. The day starts at 11:00
AM and ends at 5:00 PM, beginning with the NGO van picking up students from their
homes. I observed and participated in the daily routine, which includes basic education,
music classes, and physiotherapy sessions. I assisted in serving meals and aiding the staff
with various tasks, including promoting the NGO through social media. This initial week was
about understanding the workflow and establishing a rapport with both the staff and the
students.

Week 2 :-
In the second week, I became more actively involved in the daily activities at Jeevandeep
Trust. I helped the teachers in the classrooms, supporting them in providing basic education
to the students. One of the highlights was the music classes, where a blind teacher instructed
students on playing the harmonium, tabla, and other instruments. I also assisted the
physiotherapist in sessions aimed at improving the students’ mobility. Additionally, I
continued to help with social media promotion to raise awareness about the NGO’s work.
This week, I felt more integrated into the team and more confident in my role.

Week 3:-
During my third week at Jeevandeep Trust, my involvement in the NGO’s activities deepened
significantly as I took on more responsibilities and gained a richer understanding of the
organization's impact on the lives of disabled students.
● Educational Activities: I was given the opportunity to lead some of the educational
sessions. I worked closely with the students, helping them with their lessons and
ensuring they understood the material. I assisted in developing and implementing
teaching strategies tailored to the individual needs of each student. This experience
allowed me to build stronger connections with the students and see their progress first
hand, which was incredibly rewarding.

● Music Classes: My participation in the music classes also increased. I assisted the
blind music teacher, who is exceptionally skilled, in setting up the instruments and
guiding the students during their practice sessions. The students were learning to play
various instruments, including the harmonium, tabla, drum, congo, and dhol.
Observing their enthusiasm and dedication to learning music was inspiring. I
supported the teacher by providing additional help to students who needed it, ensuring
that everyone could participate and benefit from the classes.

● Physiotherapy Sessions: I became more involved in the physiotherapy sessions this
week, working alongside the physiotherapist to support students with mobility issues.
I assisted in exercises and treatments designed to improve muscle function and overall
physical health. It was enlightening to see the progress some students made, even in a
short period, and to understand the importance of these therapeutic interventions. I
also helped in documenting the students’ progress, which is crucial for tailoring future
treatment plans.

● Meal Assistance: As part of the daily routine, I continued to assist in serving meals to
the students. Ensuring that they received nutritious food was a key aspect of my role. I
also took part in organizing meal times and helping students with feeding, which was
crucial for some who required additional assistance.

● Week 3 at Jeevandeep Trust was particularly rewarding as I took on more active roles
in various activities. Leading educational sessions, assisting in music classes,
supporting physiotherapy treatments, and promoting the NGO's work on social media
were significant aspects of my contributions. This week reinforced the importance of
dedicated support and tailored interventions in the lives of disabled students, and it
provided me with a deeper appreciation for the impactful work being done at
Jeevandeep Trust.
