DETAILED LESSON PLAN SCIENCE(ANIMAL FOOD CHAIN)

OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson student,
● Identify different organisms in a typical animal food chain.
● Understand the concept of producers, consumers, and decomposers in the
context of the food chain.
● Illustrate the animal food chain, a simple animal food chain.
● Discuss and explain the role of each organism in the food chain.
● Will observe a local ecosystem and identify real life examples of organisms in
an animal food chain.

Good morning Class? Good morning teacher.

Melanie, are there any absences from our Melanie: There's none sir.
class today?

Activity/Motivation

Okay class, I have some pictures here to show All student: Grass teacher
to all of you and you will identify what it is.
First picture
Very good class Shiela: Everywhere
Where can you find grasses? At the farm, backyard, garden and many
more.

Very good Nory: A rabbit Sir.

Next picture

Where can you see a rabbit? Diana: At the farm and Zoo

Very good Mikaella: a snake Sir

Next picture. Can see in the forest and everywhere.

Very good snake can see everywhere Mj: An eagle sir.

The picture.
Where can you find the eagle? Thyrone: At the sky, forest and zoo

Very good eagles can be found or seen in the

forest, zoo and sky.

ANALYSIS

All the pictures that show you are examples of

an animal food chain.
As you can see her in the image

This is the example of an animal food chain.

Class: What is an animal food chain?

Dianito: Animal food chain is a sequence of

organisms in an ecosystem, where each
organism serves as a source of food for the
next one in the chain.

Very good Dianito.

An animal food chain is a sequence of
organisms in an ecosystem, where each
organism serves as a source of food for the
next one in the chain. It typically starts with
plants (producers), which are eaten by
herbivores (primary consumers), and then
those herbivores are consumed by carnivores
(secondary consumers), forming a chain of
energy transfer

This is the example of a food chain where in

the grass is the producer, the rabbit is the
primary consumer and the snake is the
secondary consumer, and the Eagle is the
third consumer.

Again, class what is Food Chain? Jasmine: An animal food chain is a sequence
of organisms in an ecosystem, where each
organism serves as a source of food for the
next one in the chain.

Very good! Jasmine Mylene: in the animal food chain are

organisms that can produce their own food
And now let’s proceed through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis.
What is a producer in the Animal Food Chain?

Very good! Gemma: in the animal food chain are

Anyone who can read the slide? ( presenting organisms that can produce their own food
ppt. ) through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis.
In the context of animals, primary producers
are usually plants and algae.

Thank you! Gemma , Rafael: Grass teacher

The best example of a producer is plants,
because plants can produce their own food on Rina: Trees, flowers
their own.
Can you give an example of plants?

Very good! Carmela: A producer can produce their own

Again, what is the producer? food on their own.

Very good! Christine: Animals that eat plants.

Next is how about the primary consumer?

Very good! Jerry: A primary consumer in the animal food

Anyone who wants to read the slide? chain is an organism that primarily feeds on
plants or algae. These are herbivores that
consume producers (plants) as their main
source of energy..

Like what christine said that a primary

consumer is the animal that eat plants

Next is the secondary consumer. ( All students will read the slide )
Everyone read the slide A secondary consumer in the animal food
chain is an organism that primarily feeds on
primary consumers, which are herbivores.
Examples include carnivores and omnivores
that consume herbivores for their energy and
nutrients.

Thank you class

Secondary consumer is the animal that eats
the primary consumer; they are carnivores.

Next is the third consumer

Who wants to read the slide Danica: The third consumer in an animal
food chain is often a tertiary consumer.
These animals feed on secondary consumers,
which, in turn, consume primary consumers
that feed on plants or other primary
producers. Tertiary consumers play a crucial
role in regulating populations within
ecosystems.

Thank you danica,

The third consumer is also a carnivores that
eat the first and the second consumers
Example of the third consumer is an Eagle,
Eagle eats the rabbit and the Snake which are
the first and second consumers.

ABSTRACTION

Okay, class did you learn about our ( All students will answer)
discussion? Yes

Let’s see if all of you really learn about our

discussion.
Mj, can you summarize our discussion? Sir, our is all about the Animal food chain,
Animal food chain is the sequence of
organisms in an ecosystem, where each
organism serves as a source of food for the
next one in the chain.
There are 3 or more sequences of organisms
in Animal food chain, and the first one is the
producer, second is the primary consumer,
and the last one is the Secondary consumer.

Very good Mj

APPLICATION

And now class let's have a group activity

which is Arrange the puzzle.
I will group you into 4 groups and every group
I will give an envelope, inside the envelope is
the puzzle which you will arrange it. I'll give
you 3mins. to finish it

Are you done class? ( All students say )

Yes, teacher

Choose one of your member to come forward (One of the member of the group will come
in front to present the arrange puzzle forward to present their puzzle task )

Jinky: our puzzle is a plant, this is a producer

in Animal Food Chain

Next Group Leahlyn: Our puzzle is a rabbit, which is the

primary consumer.

Very good, next group Eileen: Our puzzle is a snake. It is the

second consumer in the Animal Food Chain
that eats the primary consumer. It is a
Carnivores

And the Last group Kim: Our puzzle that we arrange is Eagle it is
the Third consumer that eat the first and
second consumer, it is also a Carnivores

Very Good Everyone

And now I will present you a video
About the animal food chain
And later on I will ask a question

si=yKikjWDw0nVCDzy4

What did you observe about the video? Ely: The video tells us about the animal food
chain.
Erica: It shows us the sequence of the
animal food chain in our ecosystem.

Thank class that all for today

And goodbye.
EVALUATION:
1. define "consumer" in the context of the animal food chain and provide an example.

2. define "primary producer" in the context of the animal food chain and provide an
example.

3. define "secondary producer" in the context of the animal food chain and provide an
example.

4. define "third producer" in the context of the animal food chain and provide an example.

5. What role does the animal food chain play in our ecosystem?
