Pattern Notes Abbreviations

This pattern is beginner friendly and no Mr: Magic Ring

embroidering facial details. Inc: Sc Increase
The yarn color and type are not important, Dec: Sc Decrease
as long as you adjust your hook size for the Ch: Chain

size is a personal preference, feel free to
choose a size that suits you.
The “x whatever #” after the parentheses
indicates that you should repeat what is in
the parentheses that many times.
The number at the end of each round in
parentheses is the stitch count. This signifies
how many stitches you should have at the
end of that round.
Please Note
You do not need to use the exact same yarn that I have used. You are more than
welcome to use any yarn type and color, just make sure you adjust your hook to
your yarn type. You can also sew pieces on and stuff them if you prefer, this
pattern is easily customizable!

SHAPING AND VINES

To create the lines in the pumpkin that give it shape and help it to resemble a a real
pumpkin, you will attach a long piece of yarn in Color B to your darning needle, and
thread it inside the bottom of the pumpkin head and up through the top near the
stem. When you pull the needle out, you will lay the yarn over top the pumpkin and
thread it back inside the bottom of the head and out of the top again, pulling the
yarn tight each time you complete this step. I created 8 indented sections, but you can
do more or less based on your preference. Once you get back to your original starting
point, tie off the yarn and hide the tails inside the head. To create the vines, slip
stitch into the base of the stem with color A. Make a chain as long as you’d like,
and then starting in the second chain from the hook, increase all the way up the
chain. I made 2 vines but you can make as many as you’d like. When you’ve finished
increasing up the chain, tie off and hide the tails inside the head.
You have now finished your very own Autumn the Pumpkin Snuggler!
