01 Mathematics Challenge Test
The Mathematics challenge test is a competency test designed to
determine a student’s level of knowledge in the mathematics subject.

Should students seek an accelerated progression through the UFY


mathematics subjects, they are encouraged to partake in this
examination.

Successfully demonstrating proficiency in the Mathematics Challenge


Test will qualify students for an advanced standing in the respective
UFY mathematics courses.

University Freshman Year Mathematics Subjects:

MATH017 (Maths for Humanities)


MATH030 (College Algebra)
MATH041 (Maths for Business)
MATH042 (Maths for Engineering)

02 Test Format

The challenge tests are problem solving multiple-choice type questions


and students are allowed to attempt the test only once.

Payment

Participation in each Challenge Test requires a non-refundable fee of


AED 210.

05 Results
Results will be sent to your UOW mail and personal email.

Exemption

Students who achieve a minimum score of 60% in the Challenge Test


will be granted an exemption from the subject and receive an
advanced standing of 6 credit points (6cp).

If you receive an exemption, it is crucial to withdraw from the subject


to avoid incurring charges for the subject.
