General Instructions:
• This Question paper contains five sections A, B, C, D & E. Each section is compulsory. However,
there are internal choices in some questions.
• Section A has 18 MCQ`s and 02 Assertion-Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
• Section B has 5 Very short Answer (VSA)-type questions of 2 marks each.
• Section C has 6 short Answer (SA)-type questions of 3 marks each
• Section D has 4 Long Answer (LA)-type questions of 5 marks each
• Section E has 3 source based/case based/passage based/integrated units of assessment
(4 marks each) with sub parts.

SECTION E (Provide Complete Solutions in all Parts)
Q36. Case Study1: In a survey of 60 people, it was found that 25 people read (1+1+2)
newspaper H, 26 read newspaper T, 26 read newspaper I, 9 read both H and I,
11 read both H and T, 8 read both T and I, 3 read all three newspapers.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions:

(1) Find the number of people who read exactly one newspaper.
(2) Find the number of people who read exactly two newspapers.
(3) Find the number of people who read at least two of the newspapers.
OR
Find the number of people who read only newspaper H.

Q37. During the mathematics class, a teacher clears the concept of permutation and (2+2)
combination to the 11" standard students. After the class he asks the students
some questions, one of the questions was in how many 3-digit numbers can
be formed from the digits 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, assuming that
(i) Repetition of the digits is allowed?
(ii) Repetition of the digits is not allowed?
Q38. A man wants to cut three lengths from a single piece of board of length 91cm. (1+1+2)
The second length is to be 3cm longer than the shortest and the third length is
to be twice as long as the shortest. Let man assumes x cm as the length of the
shortest board. (1+1+2)
Based on the above information, answer the following questions:

(1) What is the length of the second piece of the board?


(2) What is the length of the third piece of the board?
(3) Find the equation, if the third piece is to be at least 5cm longer than the
second.
OR
Write the equation which represent the above conditions correctly?
