SIMULTANEOUS TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY IN ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR

DEPED’S 236,000 TREES: A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR THE CHILDREN

To: All Teachers

1. In compliance with DepEd Memorandum No. 069, s. 2023 titled Guidelines on the
Implementation of the Project:DepEd’s 236,000 Trees: A Christmas Gift for the Children.

2. The project serves as a gift of the Department to ensure a clean and green environment for
Filipino learners and future generations. In addition, this project provides a unique educational
opportunity for the learners to actively participate in tree planting activities, fostering a deeper
understanding of environmental issues and promoting conservation efforts. Through hands-on
learning and practical application of environmental concepts, learners will develop a strong
sense of responsibility towards the environment.

3. Relative to this, the Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity of our school shall be conducted on
December 6, 2023 at 7:30 am.

4. Our school is required to plant 41 fruit-bearing trees at the barangay area of Bulusan.

5. The school shall identify a maximum of 30 participants composed of not more than 10 teachers,
and not more than 20 learners who will participate in the tree planting.

6. As indicated in DM No. 069, s. 2023 classes in all DepEd public schools will be on asynchronous
mode on this day.

II. Narrative Report/ Executive Summary

In line with the school memorandum no. 49 s,2023, Bulusan Elementary School had conducted a tree
planting activity in compliance with DepEd Memorandum No. 069, s. 2023 titled Guidelines on the
Implementation of the Project:DepEd’s 236,000 Trees: A Christmas Gift for the Children. This activity was
held last December 6, 2023 at 7:30 am in the ccommunity area of Barangay Bulusan near Bulusan
Elementary School.

T h i s p r o j e c t serves as a gift of the Department to ensure a clean and green environment for Filipino
learners and future generations. In addition, this project provides a unique educational opportunity for the
learners to actively participate in tree planting activities, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental
issues and promoting conservation efforts. Through hands-on learning and practical application of
environmental concepts, learners will develop a strong sense of responsibility towards the environment.

The program started with the singing of national anthem led by Mrs.Ma. Concepcion R. Tibi and
followed with a short prayer led by Mrs. Josephine I. Pineda. Ms. Lourbielyn T. Galleon was the lead facilitator.
Our school OIC, Mrs. Ma.Liza DC. Bordeos was assigned to take the part for the opening remarks and some
additional messages as spearheaded by the head of school, Dr.Susan B. Custodio. Mrs. Diana R. Julian, as
Agriculture coordinator, discussed the DepEd Memorandum no.69, s.2023 and some other instructions about
tree planting.
The teachers of Bulusan Elementary School, SELG Officers and YES-O Officers had joined the
activity. Our school prepared the fruit-bearing trees brought by the students from Grade 3 to Grade 6. We

prepared all the materials needed for planting. All the seedlings was planted at the given site in Barangay
Bulusan.

The said activity was a great success with the joint effort of the LGU of Barangay Bulusan,
cooperative teachers, and SELG and YES-O Officers. Surely, this project will be beneficial for the next
generation.

It was ended at around 10:00 am. The tree planters felt happy because of their willingness and
commitment for the success of this project.
