with their talk partners what they think is the cause of the problem and what they think will be the consequences and
discuss 6 questions that are related to the picture by using 10 words/phrases in the box.
2. Understand independently specific information and details in extended texts on a wide range of familiar topics by
listening to a dialogue about a girl named Stephanie talking to her friend Ian to answer 2 questions and answer 7
True/False questions.

PRE-LESSON: (10 minutes)
1. Pupils activate prior knowledge by working in pairs to act out the following scenario: You forgot to meet your best friend at the
cinema. You meet your best friend the next morning in school.
2. A few pairs act out their dialogues to the class.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT: (40 minutes)
1. Pupils turn to Full Blast page 61 and look at the picture and state what it shows.
2. Pupils discuss with their talk partners what they think is the cause of the problem and what they think will be the
consequences. (Main Skill)
3. A few pairs share their discussion with the rest of the class.
4. Pupils read through 10 words/phrases in the box and clarify with teacher any difficult words.
5. Pupils read the TIPS corner and listen to teacher’s explanation.
6. Pupils work in pairs and discuss 6 questions that are related to the picture by using the 10 words/phrases in the box. (Main
Skill)
7. A few pairs share their discussion with the rest of the class.
8. Pupils move on to the listening activity. Pupils look at a picture and state what it shows (some teenagers at a birthday party)
9. Pupils state what they think the listening activity will be about.
10. Pupils listen to a dialogue about a girl named Stephanie talking to her friend Ian to answer 2 questions (Who is Monica? What
are Stephanieand Ian talking about?) (Complementary Skill)
11. Pupils discuss answers as a class.
12. Pupils read through statements 1-7 and clarify with teacher any difficult words.
13. Pupils listen to the same recording and answer True or False for the 7 statements.(Complementary Skill)
14. Pupils compare their answers with a partner before discussing as a class.
POST LESSON
POST-LESSON: (10 minutes)
1. Pupils work in groups to participate in a hot seat activity. For each group, one pupil sit in the “hot seat” in the middle with the
other pupils in a circle. The pupil in the hot-seat is Monica (from the listening activity).
2. Other pupils ask questions about the surprise party and why Monica left immediately.

ACTIVITIES: PRE LESSON
 Write the sentence Andrew has never used a computer on the board with the words in the wrong order: computer
Andrew never a used has.
 Pupils work in pairs and write the sentence in the correct order. Invite pupils to come to the board and write the
correct sentence. If there are any mistakes, invite other pupils to correct them.
 Point out that we can also use the contracted form: Andrew's never used a computer.

 Elicit the past participle form of a regular verb, eg visit, visited and highlight that the past simple and past participle
of regular verbs are the same.
 Pupils work individually. They read the spelling rules and look at the irregular verbs list. They then write the past
participle forms.
 They compare answers in pairs.
