1 General
1.1 Scope
This specification describes the general assembly and servicing of the SRS FFR90-3
(ABX-3) pigtail connector used on various SRS programs.

The product and its single components must not be damaged during the assembly process.
It is not allowable to soil the product with oil, grease, particles (as slivers, dust) or
something equivalent. Proper functionality cannot be guaranteed otherwise. Chemical or
mechanical damaging of the product is not allowed. The product shall not be exposed to
environmental pollution during storage and assembly.
CAUTION:
APTIV does not recommend the assembler to wear gloves during the mating process of this
connection system.
Cable pulling during the handling and mating of the connector as well as permanent stress
on the cable of the connector in assembled condition is not allowed.

Position ABX3 connector in line to retainer code. Push connector down into retainer until
locked in place.

Press cover with finger to engage the connector (a tactile feeling or audible “click” will be
heard when seated). Typical mating force is approximately 25 N (5.5 LBS).
NOTE: If resistance is felt while mating the connector, wiggle the connector slightly
until resistance is no-longer felt.

In case of damage on the connector, it must not be repaired, but has to be replaced by a
new one!
Remove connector by squeezing locking legs (Fig 7-1) of connector while lifting connector
body. (Fig 7-2)
