JOHN BERCHMANS HIGH SCHOOL INCORPORATED

Magsaysay, Cordon, Isabela

QUARTER 1: October 16-20, 2023

Weekly Plan in Science 9
I.OBJECTIVES
CONTENT STANDARD
The learners demonstrate that understanding the structure and function of plant parts and organelles
involved in photosynthesis and the structure and function of mitochondrion as the main organelle involved in
respiration will help us promote the protection and conservation of plant and animal species due to their
ecological roles.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learners will be able to design a flow chart to provide evidence that plants can manufacture their
own food.

MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING COMPETENCY

 Elaborate basic features and importance of photosynthesis and cellular respiration; S9LT-lg-j-31
 Design a flow chart to provide evidence that plants can manufacture their own food; S9LT-lg-j-31

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
 Explain the basic features of photosynthesis and cellular respiration
 Differentiate the importance of photosynthesis and cellular respiration
 Apply the photosynthesis and cellular respiration in real life situation

I. TOPIC: Protection of Biodiversity from Premature extinction

DAY 1
Begin with classroom routine:
a. Prayer
b. Reminders of health and classroom protocols
c. Checking of attendance
d. Quick “kamustahan”

A. Recall (Elicit)
Ask the students knowledge about the relationship of photosynthesis and cellular respiration?
B. Motivation (Engage)
Let the students watch a video clip about features of photosynthesis and cellular respiration

C. Discussion of concepts (Explore)

 Explain the basic features of photosynthesis and cellular respiration

D. Developing Mastery (Explain)

Let the learners explain the basic features of photosynthesis and cellular respiration

E. Application and Generalization (Elaborate)

Let learners ask questions for clarification. Describe the basic features of photosynthesis and cellular
respiration

F. Evaluation
Let the students make a concept mapping about the photosynthesis and cellular respiration
