I-OBJECTIVES Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises
and remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These
are using Formative Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and
competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly
objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of: 1. plant form and function 2. plant
growth and development
B. Performance Standard The learners shall be able to: design a setup on propagating plants using other methods
such as hydroponics and aeroponics
C. Learning The learners:
Competencies/Objectives 11. describe the structure and function of the different plant organs S11/12LT -IVae-23
12. explain the different metabolic processes involved in the plant organ systems
S11/12LT -IVae-24

III-LEARNING RESOURCES Lists the materials to be used in different days. Varied sources of materials sustain children’s
interest in the lesson and in learning. Ensure that there is a mix of concrete and manipulative
materials as well as paper-based materials. Hands-on learning promotes concept development.

IV- PROCEDURE These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that
students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which
you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing
students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question their learning
processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and
previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson or Instructions: Stand if the statement is True and Sit down if the statement is False.
Presenting the New Lesson
(ELICIT) 1. Botany is the study of plants.
2. Chloroplast is responsible for the green color of many plants Chlorophyll is responsible
for the green color of many plants
3. Aeroponics is a plant-cultivation technique in which the roots hang suspended in the air
while nutrient solution is delivered to them in the form of a fine mist while Hydroponics
is the technique of growing plants using a water-based nutrient solution rather than soil
Photosynthesis
4. Green plants are able to make their own food in a process called photosynthesis.
5. Plants produce carbon dioxide as a by-product of photosynthesis Plants produce oxygen
as a by-product of photosynthesis
B. Establishing a Purpose for Let the students watch the video about
the Lesson (ENGAGE) Steps in Sexual Reproduction of plants
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4FtmP64ky8\
C. Presenting After watching the video, let the students create a KWL chart about the Steps in Sexual
Examples/Instances of the Reproduction of plants.
Lesson (ENGAGE)
D. Discussing New Concepts and Discussion
Practicing New Skills #1 The
(EXPLORE) vegetative organs are:
a. Leaves, b. stems and c. roots.
Leaves
Light, water, and carbon dioxide are needed by the leaves to manufacture food by
photosynthesis. Food produced is transported to the rest of the body. Oxygen, a by-
product is released through the stomata..
Stems
Stems are between roots and leaves and pro
vided with nodes. Stem functions for support of branches,
leaves, flowers and fruits. Another important function is conduction of substances. Water
travels from the
roots
and up the stem and leaves through the xylem. Stem is for the conduction of food as well.
Roots
The two important functions are for anchorage firmly to the ground, and for absorption of water
and
minerals from the soil.
Stamen-represents the male sexual reproductive organ. It is made of anther which contains the
pollen grains and the filament.
Pistil-which represents the female sexual reproductive organ, consists of the ovary and the ovule
which bears the egg cells.
F. Developing Mastery Let the students answer the following question:
(Leads to Formative 1.How do plants survive?
Assessment 3) (EXPLAIN) 2.Why are plants important in our lives?
G. Finding Practical The learners shall be able to: design a setup on propagating plants using other methods such as
Applications of Concepts and hydroponics and aeroponics
Skills in Daily Living
(ELABORATE)
H. Making Generalizations and Let the students answer the following questions:
Abstractions about the Lesson 1. How does hydroponics/ aeroponics works?
(ELABORATE) 2. Why is it important?
I. Evaluating Learning Let the students answer a 10-item multiple choice quiz about How Plants Survive.
(EVALUATE) 1.To maintain life plants need ____

6. ___ represents the female sexual reproductive
organ. a. stamen b. pistil c. stigma d. flower
7. The process wherein pollen grains drop on the stigma of pistil through the wind. a. pollination
b. pollen germination c. fertilization d. seed germination
8. The process wherein the ovary develops into a fruit and ovule becomes a seed. a. pollination
b. pollen germination c. fertilization d. seed germination
9.Which of the following is NOT a step in the sexual reproduction? a. pollination b. pollen

J. Additional Activities for Let the students have some research about plants that grow through hydroponics and
Application or Remediation aeroponics.

V-REMARKS The learners shall attend to the asynchronous tasks posted by the STEM focal person
via the Earth and Life Science Google Classroom.
VI- REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your student’s
