Required Precaution Checklist: -
1. Hot work must cease at least one hour before
work ends.
2. Smoke detectors must be isolated in the vicinity
of any hot work.
3. Adequate illumination and ventilation.
4. Availability of suitable fire extinguisher, fire
blanket, first aid kit and drum of water.
5. Ensure that the proper PPE is provided and worn
by operatives.
6. All equipment used are safe and well maintained.
7. Valves and hoses must be in good condition.
8. All cylinders are safe, suitably secured and have
flashback arrestors fitted.
9.Welding equipment shall comply with current
standards and are properly maintained.
10.Combustible materials and supplies moved at
least 35 feet away from hot work location.
11. Ensure satisfactory access to and egress from
the work area.
12. Wall and floor openings (windows etc.) within 35
feet from hot work location are covered.
13. One-hour fire watch after job completion.
