This about the prime ministers of India and there works made
for India. In 1947 India got independence. Since 1947 there
have been 15 Prime Ministers. Each one from the different
political parites and ideological learning. India Is a
multicultural multilingual and pluralistic society. Here the
some of the decisions ever made has chanced the course of
India History.
Here is list of the top 5 Prime Ministers that have made India
from being an under developed to a developing to the path
of developed economy in recent tasks.

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru(1947-1964)


Jawaharlal Nehru was pivot figure in India history serving the first
Prime Minister of independent India 1947-1964.
Nehru was born on November 14,1889 in Allahabad British India.
He hailed from a prominent political family, father Motial Nehru was
a lawyer and key figure in Indian National Congress.
Nehru deeply involved in the Indian Independence movement led
by Mahatma Gandhi. He advocated for complete independence from
British rule and was imprisoned multiple times for his political
activites.
After India gained independence from British rule 1947, Nehru
became the country’s first Prime Minister. He held this position until
his death 1964. As Prime minister Nehru played a central role in
shaping India’s domestic and foreign policies.

Lal bahadur Shastri (1964-1966)


Lal Bahadur Shatri served as the second Prime Minister of India,
succeeding Jawaharlal Nehru.
Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on October 2, 2940, in Mughalsarai
Uttar Pradesh, India. He came from humble background and deeply
influenced by the values of simplicity honesty and integrity
After India gained independence in 1947, shastri held various
ministerial positions in the government including Minister Railways
and Minister of Transport and Communications. He earned a
reputation for his administrative skills, honesty and dedicate to public
service.
Lal Bahadur Shastri became the Prime Minister of India on June
9,1964, following the death of Jawaharlal Nehru. Here inherited the
responsibility of leading the nation during a challenging period
marked by food shortage and economic difficulties.
Lal Bahadur Shastri remembered as a principled leader with a strong
sense of duty and humility. His famous slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”.

Indira Gandhi (1966-1977/1980-1984)


Inira Gandhi was a prominent political figure in India serving as the
third Prime Minister of the country for two separate from 1966-1977
and them again from 1980-1984.
Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 in
Allahabad, India to Jawaharlal Nehru , the first Prime Minister of
India and Kamala Nehru. Growing up in a politically active family, she
was exposed to the independence movement from a young age.
After the sudden death of Lal Bahadur Shatri in 1966, Indira Gandhi
was appointed as the Prime Minister Of India. During her first term
she implemented several key points, including nationalizing banks,
abolishing privy purses of erstwhile princely states, and promoting
the “Garibi Hatao” campaign.
Emergency Period One of the most controversial periods of Indira
Gandhi’s political career was the important of a states of emergency
in 1975, which lasted for 21 months.
Indira Gandhi staged a political comeback in 1960 leading the
Indian National Congress to a landslide victory in the general
elections. During her she focused on economical reforms including
the initiation of Sixth Five Year Plan aimed at promoting growth and
development.

Dr Manmohan Singh (2004-2014)


Dr. Manmohan Singh served as the 13th Prime Minister of India from
2004 to 2014.
Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932 in Gah Punjab.
He completed his undergraduate and master’s degree in economical
from the University of Oxford where he was a member of NUffeld
Collage.
Dr. Manmohan Singh became Prime Minister of India in 2004 after
the India National Congress United Progressive coalition won the
general elections. During his tenure Singh government focused on
economic growth social welfare and infrastructure development.
Singh tenure faced challenges such as corruption scandals
economic slowdown and political opposition. Despite these
challenges his government achieved notable successes in areas like
economic growth during this period although the were concerns
about rising inflation and fiscal deficits.

Narendra Modi (2014 till date)(Present)


Narendra Modi is an influential political figure in India, serving as the
14th Prime Minister of the country since May 26, 2014.
Narendra Damodardas Modi was born on September 17, 1950, in
Vadnagar Gujarat India. He comes from a humble background and
worked at his family tea stall during his youth Modi completed his
education in political science from the university of Delhi.
Modi was being the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014
economic the states development and initives to promote
investment in Gujarat. His government also faced criticism for
handling of the 2002 Gujarat riots.
As Narendra Modi has been serving as the Prime Minister of India
since 2014. He has implemented various initiatives like Swachh
Bharat Abhiyan and boost manufacturing in the country. He also
focused on digitalization and infrastructure development.
