ABOUT EVENT
INTRODUCTION ABOUT WASTE MANAGEMENT:

• Waste management refers to the various schemes to manage and dispose of

wastes. It can be by discarding, destroying, processing, recycling, reusing, or
controlling wastes. The prime objective of waste management is to reduce the
amount of unusable materials and to avert potential health and environmental
hazards.
• Waste management involves the processes of waste collection,
transportation, processing, as well as waste recycling or disposal. Sustainable
waste management systems include advanced management strategies to minimize
environmental challenges and protect resources.

INTRODUCTION ABOUT WATER CONSERVATION:

Although the earth is rich in water, only one percent is liquid fresh water, the form
we require for our highest priority needs.
• The demands on this liquid fresh water are growing, and many scientists feel
that a future shortage of fresh water will be eminent.
• Water conservation and management emphasizes water quality protection, a
growing area of employment and environmental concern.
• Water conservation and management encompasses the policies, strategies
and activities made to manage water as a sustainable resource, to protect the water
environment, and to meet current and future human demand.
• Population, household size, and growth and affluence all affect how much
water is used.
• But sometimes we forget how easily it can go from being a necessity for life
to something that is taken for granted as our infrastructure breaks down and
pollution persists.
• With that in mind, let’s explore some important facts about water
conservation so you know what it takes to keep our natural resources in good
condition.
• Water conservation refers to the preservation, control and development of
water resources, both surface and groundwater, and prevention of pollution.
• Conservation of water is the only solution for sustenance. It has become
mandatory that we must value every drop of water and avoid wastage at home
schools, factories and industries. Adopting the policy of Refuse, Recycle and
Reuse will help in cutting down water consumption

effects on the health of our planet.
• Generation of waste from each home should be minimised.
• Ultimately waste management is in our hands.

Water Conservation:
Wasting water has become a significant environmental problem, both at consumer.
And Industrial levels. Hence, it has become Important for individuals and
businesses alike to find out ways to reduce the wastage of water and conserve it.
• There are a lot of ways that we can conserve water at our home, industries and
agricultural fields.
• Instead of waiting for somebody else to start conserving, let us, as an individual.
Take the first step towards conserving water.
• Water the lawn or garden during the coolest part of the day (early morning is
best). Do not water on windy days.
• Have your soil tested for nutrient content and add organic matter if needed. Good
soil absorbs and retains water better.
• Do not install or use ornamental water features unless they recycle the water. Use
signs to indicate that water is recycled. Do not operate during a drought.
