Final Demo Teaching

The document outlines a lesson plan for teaching students about food chains and food webs. It includes objectives, procedures, and activities such as identifying trophic levels of organisms and creating a food web diagram by organizing printed organisms. Students work in groups and the goal is to collaborate effectively to accurately assemble the food web.

Semi-detailed Lesson Plan

1. OBJECTIVES
A. Content The learners demonstrate an understanding of the one-way
Standard flow of energy and the cycling of materials in an ecosystem.
B. Performance The learners should be able to make a poster comparing
Standard food choices based on the trophic levels
C. Learning 1. describe the transfer of energy through the trophic

Game (Guess the Word)
Instructions
1. Divide the class into two groups. Each group should have an equal number of
participants.
2. Provide each group with a mystery box containing five words. Ensure that the
boxes for both groups have different sets of words.
3. Select one representative from each group. This representative will act out the
words for their group members to guess. The remaining members of the group
will be the guessers.
4. The representative will draw a word from their group's mystery box and act it
out without speaking or using any props. They can use gestures, facial
expressions, and body movements to convey the meaning of the word.
5. The guessers in the group will observe the representative's actions and try to
guess the word being acted out. They can discuss among themselves and
come up with their best guess.
6. If the guessers correctly guess the word, another representative should be in
front to act the word.
7. The member in each group who successfully guesses all five words from their
mystery box becomes the winner.

B. ANALYSIS
Check Your Understanding (Word Lineup)
Determine the trophic level/s the following organisms most likely belong to. Classify
them as: producer, primary consumer, or secondary consumer. Line up to these
words which you think the correct answer.

1. cow
2. mung bean
3. caterpillar
4. maya bird
5. shark
6. grasshopper
7. flies
8. eagle
9. monkey
10. humans

C. ABSTRACTION
CREATING FOOD WEB
Instruction
1. Divide the class into two groups. Group A and Group B.
2. Each group will receive the same set of printed organisms. These organisms
represent different species found in a specific ecosystem. Make sure to pay
attention and work together as a team.
3. Your task is to assemble a food web using the provided organisms. A food web is
a visual representation of the feeding relationships between organisms in an
ecosystem. It shows who eats whom and helps us understand the flow of energy.
4. Discuss and collaborate within your group to organize the organisms into a food
web. Think about which organisms eat others and who might be eaten by others.
Consider the direction of energy flow and the transfer of nutrients.
5. Use the materials provided to create a clear and accurate food web diagram. You
can draw it on a large piece of paper or use an online tool if available.
6. Remember to label each organism and use arrows to show the flow of energy
from the organism being eaten to the organism doing the eating.
7. Once you have completed your food web, review it as a group to ensure that all
the organisms are connected in a logical and accurate way. Double-check that all
the feeding relationships are represented.
8. Raise your right hand if you’re done assemble the food web.
9. Those students who assemble the food web first will be the winner.

D. GENERALIZATION

1. What are the differences between producers and consumers?

Producers, also known as autotrophs, are organisms capable of producing their
own food while consumers, also known as heterotrophs, are organisms that
obtain their energy by consuming other organisms.

2. How is energy transferred from one organism to another?

Energy is transferred from one organism to another within an ecosystem through
the process of feeding and trophic interactions.

3. How important is the food chain and food web in the ecosystem?
The food chain and food web are essential components of an ecosystem, playing
critical roles in maintaining balance and sustaining life.

E. APPLICATION
Online Game (Kahoot game!)
Directions
1. We will divide the class into two groups. Each group will receive one cellphone or
device to participate in the Kahoot game. Make sure to work together as a team
within your assigned group.
2. On your cellphone or device, open the web browser and type 'kahoot.it' in the
search box. This will take you to the Kahoot website.
3. Once you are on the Kahoot website, you will be prompted to enter a game code.
Pay attention as I provide the game code for today's Kahoot session. Type in the
code to join the game.
4. The game consists of five items, which could be questions or challenges related
to the topic we are studying.
5. Answer each item by selecting the correct option on your cellphone or device
screen. The faster you answer correctly, the more points you earn. Aim for
accuracy and speed!
6. After all five items are completed, we will tally up the scores for each group. The
group that has the highest score will be declared the winner of this Kahoot game.
7. Remember, Kahoot is not only about winning but also about learning and having
fun. Stay engaged, support your teammates, and enjoy the experience!

F. EVALUATION
SHORT QUIZ
DIRECTION: Answer the following questions based on the given food web below.
1. Name all the producers.
2. Name all the primary consumers.
3. Name all the secondary consumers.
4. Which level gets the least amount of energy in the food web?
5. Which level gets the highest amount of energy in the food web?
