CHAPTER 5
Summary of Findings, Conclusion, and Recommendations
This chapter includes the summary of the study, the findings obtained from the
data gathered and the conclusion made out of these findings, it also includes the
recommendations based on the findings of the study.
Summary of Findings
In the experiment on the drying time of the glue, Trial 1 revealed that the adhesive
wasn’t completely dry, while Trial 2 showed slight dryness. In contrast, Trial 3 stood out
for its longest drying period at 540.53 seconds, significantly surpassing the drying times
observed in Trials 1 and 2.
This finding highlights the necessity of considering drying time in adhesive
selection, particularly for applications requiring quick drying. By integrating insights from
the study with practical considerations, crafters can make informed decisions, ultimately
enhancing project outcomes and efficiency. Additionally, comparisons with drying times
of commonly used adhesives like PVA glue provide valuable context for understanding
adhesive properties and optimizing crafting processes.
The experiment evaluated the adhesive peel strength of a mixture containing okra
and aloe vera on various applied areas. Three trials were conducted In the experiment
on the displays peel strengths of 0.1kg, 0.15kg, and 2kg respectively, with an average
peel strength of 0.0588 pascals and a standard deviation of 0.0196. Despite variations in
adhesive quantity, the peel strength remained consistent, indicating reliable bonding
properties. However, the relatively low peel strength suggests limitations for applications
requiring stronger adhesion. Besley, T. (2024) suggests that lightweight materials with
large surface areas may not require high adhesive strength. Thus, while the okra and aloe
vera adhesive shows promise, further optimization may be needed for enhanced
performance. Overall, the study emphasize the viability of the okra and aloe vera
adhesive and highlights its potential as an effective bonding agent, particularly for
lightweight materials with extensive surface areas.
Conclusion
In conclusion, our study of the adhesive’s bonding strength and drying time using
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) and Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis miller) has produced
informative findings. We have found that the best bonding strength is achieved by letting
the adhesive dry for about 7 minutes after application, based on methodical testing and
analysis. Furthermore, it’s crucial to manage the water content during preparation to avoid
the adhesive getting overly soaked which could reduce the glue’s ability to attach.
Additionally, our results show that the adhesive has strong bonding strength on a variety
of paper materials, demonstrating its adaptability and potential for broad use. Moreover,
taking consideration of environmental variables like temperatures and sun exposure can
have a major impact on the adhesive’s drying time, providing valuable data for its effective
application.

offering a satisfactory user experience, making it a desirable option for a range of papers.
The studies fulfills the increasing demand for sustainable and eco-friendly products, which
is a sub-factor. The results of this study may provide a natural, non-toxic glue substitute
that can be used in a papers. Additionally, using okra and aloe vera as adhesive materials
may encourage the use of renewable resources. This will create a new product on the
market and help to conserve the environment.
