IMT
1. Your reason to pursue a PGDM at this stage of your career
2. Why do you think IMT is the right choice for pursuing your PGDM ?
3. What is your future career goal/s in the span of next 7-10 years and how IMT can help you achieve this
goal/s ?
As an individual, I always try to be well prepared and researched before taking up any task whether it be
for making a purchase, a presentation, or even an important decision. When the time to decide between
getting experience or preparing for higher studies came, I chose the latter. A PGDM degree at this point in
my career will equip me with the required skills and knowledge before joining the corporate sector. It will
provide me with industry exposure in a structured atmosphere and not just contribute to professional, but
personal growth as well, besides providing a pool of networking opportunities.
The vision of IMT - ‘contribution in grooming leadership, entrepreneurial talent and research’ resonates
with my outlook of attaining finesse and honing interpersonal skills since exposure to an entrepreneurial
environment will make one understand the minutest details of running a business. Committees like BGS,
E-Cell, and Markup at IMT will prove to be a great source of academic excellence.
Within the next few years, I plan to work my way up the managerial hierarchy and secure a valuable
position in a renowned company to leave a remarkable imprint in its growth process. Industry exposure
will contribute towards providing clarity of choice between owning a venture or managing one. A strong
foundation is paramount and IMT will be the first stepping stone toward embarking on this journey. Its
constant endeavors to adapt and impart knowledge aligned with the rapid commercial changes reflected
in pedagogy, along with its students and I express my intent to be part of your reputable institution.
As an individual, I always attempt to be adequately prepared and well-researched before beginning any
activity, whether it be for making a purchase, giving a presentation, or even making a substantial decision.
When the choice arose between learning on the job and preparing for a post graduation degree, I picked
the latter route. Prior to entering the corporate sector, a PGDM degree at this stage of my career will give
me the necessary skills and expertise. In addition to offering a variety of networking possibilities, it will
expose me to the industry in a structured setting while fostering both professional and personal growth.
The mission of IMT, which is to "contribute in cultivating leadership, entrepreneurial talent, and research,"
is in line with my view that developing finesse and honed interpersonal skills are essential since exposure
to an entrepreneurial environment can help one comprehend every aspect of managing a business. The
presence of committees like BGS, E-Cell, and Markup will prove to be an aid in driving toward academic
success.
I plan to leave a significant mark on the development of a known firm within the next several years, so I
intend to climb the managerial ladder and land a valued position inside a renowned organisation.
Exposure to the industry will aid the choice between running a venture and owning one. Building a solid
foundation is essential, and IMT will be the first stop on this journey. Its ongoing efforts to adjust and
transmit information in line with the swift commercial developments are evident in pedagogy, and I
express my intent to be part of your reputable institution.

Write about your extracurricular interests and hobbies
My passion in taking charge of events was made clear by my active participation in undergraduate
societies. Starting with the duties assigned to leading teams and providing them with instruction, I have
worked my way up the ladder of responsibilities. Additionally, I enjoy reading books and occasionally
dabble in calligraphy as hobbies.
Scholastic Achievements (maximum 50 words) - may include merit certificates/ranks in board/University,
prizes/positions in academic competitions, etc.
The pursuit of academic success persisted throughout my years in school. I was a scholar student from
class 4 to class 10 in a row. I received a scholarship and a trophy in class 10 for my performance in the
boards. I also took part in various competitions, and in the National Financial Literacy Assessment Test
year 2017, I was chosen as one of three students from my school.

I would like to address myself as a student, not only now but in the future too, because I believe one can
never stop learning. Coming from a middle-class family with strong values, I have always been taught to
carve a path for myself and it has stayed with me. Academics have been a priority since an early age and
extra-curriculars were my experiment area. I never shied away from taking up new activities, whether it be
dance, sports, art, crafts, debates, quizzes and managing them along with the studies. Inquisitive nature
came into picture during science classes when everyone was trying to learn the phenomenon and I was
badgering my teacher with questions of extended concepts. Getting into the Student Council after high
school came with its own responsibilities and learning curve too.
Besides, I was not a very social person and would stick to some people with whom I resonated back in
the school days. Although I did not find anything wrong with it, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone.
And I did not leave any opportunity that came my way during college to do so. Talking to new people
helped me build my conversation skills and gain confidence, interning helped me persevere through those
interviewing processes and build new skills, organising events helped me understand the logistics, and
leading society helped me in trusting my decisions and standing up for myself.
Understanding a concept to its depth before working on it is what I preach. I wish to be equipped with the
required set of skills, knowledge, and exposure before taking up any kind of task and since the decision
here is of career path, an interest in management led me in the direction of an MBA as a fresher.
Coming from a middle-class household with strong morals, I was raised to forge my path by putting in
hard work and resilience, and that lesson has stayed with me. Since a young age, academics have taken
precedence, and extracurriculars have been my experimental field. I was seldom hesitant to try new
things, whether it was dancing, athletics, arts and crafts, debates, or quizzes, and balanced my studies
with them. When everyone was attempting to understand the phenomenon in science class and I was
bugging the teacher with queries about the logic behind them, my inquisitive nature became apparent.
After completing high school, joining the Student Council entailed duties and a learning curve of its own.
In addition, I wasn't a particularly social person and tended to remain with a few folks from my school
days whom I connected with. Even though I saw nothing wrong with it, I wanted to stretch myself. And I
seized every opportunity that presented itself to me when I was in college. Talking to new people helped
me hone my communication skills and gain confidence; working as an intern helped me persevere
through interview processes and develop new skills; planning events helped me comprehend logistics;
and leading society made me feel confident in my judgement and be able to stand up for myself.
I advocate fully comprehending an idea before working on it. Before beginning any task, I want to be
prepared with the necessary knowledge, experience, and abilities. Since choosing a professional path
was the question here, my interest in management pointed me in the direction of an MBA as a newcomer.

Thinking about an MBA degree, most of us including me thought about swanky cars, heavy paychecks,
bigger cabins and leading teams. But are these enough of the driving factors to pursue one? Maybe or
maybe not. Were they enough for me to step into this race of b schools? Definitely not.
A driving factor for me here was the intent to learn business to its core, to understand the technicalities…

Knowledge has no bounds and when it comes to business, there certainly is no particular stage at which
one can draw a line and state that he or she knows everything because it is not something that can be
taught by anyone else, but through one’s own experiences.

Describe your strengths and weaknesses as identified by you.* (Maximum 500 characters)
My strongest trait is my willingness to get better. The desire to pick up new skills, push myself outside my
comfort zone, and seize new possibilities never subsides. I had a small circle of friends and was a quiet
student in school. Even though I was an active participant in most events, I didn't engage much with my
peers. However, I was determined to overcome my reticence, so I stepped outside my comfort zone and
took on a variety of responsibilities that required me to work with colleagues, manage teams, plan events,
and negotiate within the team whenever a conflict developed between members of the society and
mediation was required, among other things. I've worked on increasing my involvement in taking charge,
communicating effectively, and making sound judgments over time. The post-pandemic phase of college
was when time management skills were enhanced because that was the period of constant
activity—events, classes, internals, etc.—and it was imperative to allocate enough time for everything. I
am highly conscious of everything I do, which makes me my greatest critic. It can occasionally lead to
problems because I get caught up in making sure everything is perfect down to the last detail or because I
am not content with the results for some other reason, even though others are. Additionally, the ability to
empathize might cause unexpected implications if misused by others. To experience a holistic
development that will be mirrored in my personality, I am concurrently attempting to work on my weak
areas and work on myself.
What is your most significant accomplishment so far?* (Maximum 500 characters)

What are your present hobbies?* (Maximum 500 characters)
I like reading. I recently finished ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ by Khaled Hosseini and it had a very
stimulating plot filled with strong emotions, set up against the Volatile atmosphere of Afghanistan. Even
though fiction appeals more to my interest, I have read a few non-fictions too. Listening to music is also
something I find solace in. I used to occasionally dabble in calligraphy as well.
Any other information you would like to share?* (Maximum 500 characters)
As much as academics are important , I understand my social responsibility as well. I volunteered with
Team Everest which works towards promoting education and funding scholarships on an assignment in
2021 and Victor Welfare Association, which is an animal welfare NGO, as well after completing my
graduation in June 2022. It helped me in appreciating small efforts that lead to bigger changes and how
people are united when it comes to noble causes.
