Rational In reference of the Regional Memorandum no. 0605, s. 2023 titled:
National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month Celebration 2023 and Division
Memorandum no. 677 s. 2023 titled: Conduct of Pre-Work Activity for
IPEd Grand Celebration cum Reorganization of Division Consultative
Advisory Body, the Division recognizes and celebrates the
contribution of the IP communities in preserving the Filipino cultural
heritage in Misamis Oriental with the theme “Salimpukawan ku IPEd
Grand Celebration 2024”.
This three-day activity aims to further expand the IPEd’ skills and
knowledge of Awang Elementary School, preserve their culture,

respect for human rights and culture diversity and shall promote
greater awareness and appreciation of the Indigenous Peoples’
cultural heritage history.
To give importance of the education system that recognize, protect
and promote the rights and welfare of Indigenous Cultural
Communities (ICCs), Indigenous Peoples (Ips) adhering the principles
of inclusive and empowerment the Department of Education (DepEd)
Division of Misamis Oriental is going to hold the Grand Indigenous
Peoples Higaonon Celebration with the theme: “SALIMPUKAWAN ku
IPEd Grand Celebration 2024” on March 22-24, 2024 at the
Municipality of Magsaysay, Consuelo NHS, Magsaysay II District of
Misamis Oriental.
B. Training Goals
1. To promote reconciliation and understanding between
our IP brothers and sisters and non-IP’s
2. To interact the different IP cultures in different ICCs,
3. To overcome the barriers of discrimination
