Action Plan and Job-Embedded Learning
In light of the 2018 PISA result, it was found that among 79 participating countries, we ranked last in reading and second to last in both science and
mathematics. PISA evaluates 15-year-olds' reading, math, and science achievement as well as their application of critical knowledge and abilities. It is a
clear indication that our learners lack critical and higher-order thinking skills among themselves. To address this problem, the brilliant minds in the
Department of Education continuously look for tangible efficient solutions. One of which is the continuous provision of training for its teachers, particularly on
the use of SOLO-based pedagogy, as they are seen as the front liners in molding young minds and capacitating them to become critical thinkers.
Equip science teachers with the capacity and ability to help students develop their critical and higher-order thinking skills through the
application of SOLO-based instruction.
Develop among the science teachers the skills in performing SOLO-based pedagogy through LAC sessions
Ensure continuous support for the teachers in the utilization of HOTS-PLPs
