Responsibilities as an intern:

• Clinical rotations in departments of Internal Medicine, Neuroscience, Obstetrics and Gynecology,


Paediatrics, Primary Care, Emergency, Psychiatry, Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Radiology.

Responsibilities as a House Medical Officer:

specialists regarding patient’s chronic care.
• Taking a detailed and comprehensive medical History of all patients, performing complete physical
examination, making sure it is documented in all patients’ records, ordering laboratory tests, x-rays and
other diagnostic procedures according to the presented case. In addition, proven ability to make sound
diagnoses following accurate case-taking, examination of patient and interpretation of diagnostic procedure.
• Evaluate patients’ physical and mental health; refer patients to other specialists where appropriate and

• Perform routine surgery, such as primary closure techniques (suturing), ingrown toenail removal, skin lesion
biopsies and removal of foreign bodies from eyes, ears or wounds, nasal packing for epistaxis, digital nerve
blocks and intra-articular injections to certain joints.
• Provide emergency care for acute coronary syndrome and asthma attacks Inoculate patients, including
children from birth.
• Provide pre-natal and post-natal care and shared care responsibilities with hospital obstetric departments
and midwifery clinics.
